About
Pala Mesa Golf Resort is situated between Temecula wine country and the beautiful countryside of San Diego's North County. The course was carefully carved from the surrounding hillsides, providing rolling fairways and undulating greens throughout the layout. Towering oaks, sycamores, and elms blanket the course's landscape, providing the perfect complement to the stunning mountain views. The fairways are tight and lined with trees, demanding a fair amount of accuracy. The greens also play fairly quick. The golf course does provide a challenging round but it is seemingly much tougher than it actually is. Beginners should still feel comfortable taking on the course. The versatile layout in combination with the consistently good conditions have earned Pala Mesa acclaim as one of the best golf courses in San Diego County.

Played better than it looked
Lots of dormant grass with greens not looking lush. However, the greens rolled fast and true with lots of subtle break. Bunkers are in great shape, fairway had a few thin patches but it is March after all.

A little high priced
The play was fast. They spread the groups out well, we never had to wait at the tee box for the people in front. $83 for the round against how the course looked was a bit steep.

A good value thru GolfNow
Pros: This is a course I’ve played before and would play again. Old school design and feel. Demands accuracy and patience.
Cons: Restrictions on the carts GPS control is totally over the top....just childish!

Good but not great.
Interesting course with lots of road noise. Greens are fine, but fairways are mostly weedy. Staff was fine, and pace of play was good.

Morning stroll
Like the layout of the course. The fairways are narrow and challenging. Staff was very friendly and professional.

Hidden Gem
The course was in good condition especially for winter time. I had a good deal with the price and the staff was friendly. Once you have played here, you’ll keep coming back. It was rather busy but I had an early tee time so I avoided the slow pace.

Nice Surprise
After reading prior reviews, our expectations for Pala Mesa were ‘average’ ... However this course exceeded our expectations and was fun and challenging to play. We’re average bogie golfers and found the course’s rolling hills and dog-legged fareways to be very playable and a pleasure to play. The greens were slow and a bit rough with divots and uneven textures ... still found them a hoot and lots of fun to try to predict where the ball would travel!
