fogotten place
I could feel that it was a great course, but now the water was gone, so it was kind of lacking the water feature which felt a little bit empty.
OK course pricey
Nice track all OK. Orange County CA golf is WAY overpriced. But all in all a good experience.
User friendly
Very well conditioned track for someone looking for relatively easy golf.
Beautiful course, price insane
The course was in beautiful shape. The starter was a awesome younger man who gave us a hole by hole layout of the course while we waited to tee off when he heard it was our first time. They tee off perfectly not giving you keys til your tee time so people aren't backed up on the first hole. The $175 price on the tee time after us is a little insane but we got a great $80 tee time which was well worth it. $175, not so much. All in all, great course, great staff and great time when the price is right.
Cost
Cost of play was not worth the course to play . Played the first 4 holes dodging sprinklers . If they don't let you out to play until a certain time , the sprinklers should be timed so they don't interfere with the players . For 125$ jumping sprinklers is a joke . I've played much better courses in better shape for half the cost .
Great course, getting over crowded
Played a little after-work twilight round, and the pace of play was so slow, me and a friend literally played holes 1, 2, 3, then we played hole 3 (a little par 3) two more times while waiting. We then moved on to 4 and 5 (which easily took 45 minutes) and then we went back to the tee of 4 played them again, finally after playing those we made it over to hole 6 and the pace was "sped" up to waiting 3-5 minutes on each shot. By the time we hit the 9th hole I called it a day. Lots of "on course lessons", walkers, and beginner golfers out there, weekends are far better than weekdays here (avoid twilight at all costs).
Strawberry Farms Forever
Definitely worth playing Strawberry Farms! After a few days at Disney it was a welcome break from the crowds. Only a 30 minute drive from the resort area to one of the top public access courses in Orange County. Smart layout that winds through the valley. Excellent conditions save for a few pockmarked greens. Great value on GolfNow, too. I'll be back!
Sweeter the Berry
Enjoyed a great round at SBF. Greens were pristine and fast. Fairways in great shape. Tight landing areas on most holes. Played with a buddy in 4 hours, no one around us like we had the course to ourselves. Friendly staff. Got a golfnow hot deal, definitely the way to go. Big driving range and nice restaurant with a large wrap around patio to grub before or after your round. No GPS on carts was the only downside. Will be back to SBF.
Potential for a great golf experience - but falls well short
SF has a lot of great potential. Beautiful location, great club house, restaurant, and practice area. The course layout and conditions are fantastic. However, for $175 I would expect a lot more attention to detail. The golf range was very chewed up and could have easily move the hit area back to better grass. The Pro Shop staff person was not very accommodating and not too friendly when I asked for a receipt for a golf certificate exchange. The pace of play was a bit slow. With a bit more TLC this place could be awesome - for about $110. Not $175.
Excellent Condition/Great layout
3rd time I've played the course, and it continues to challenge with pin placements on tiered greens. The greens were great...rolled very true. Hot Deal made this a great value.
Don't Play On A Wednesday!
Played on a Wednesday, with an 8:45 AM tee time. Got there, found out their driving range is closed until 10 AM every Wednesday for maintenance. This was never stated when I made tee time reservations. On the first 5 holes, they were watering the fairways- not sure why they didn't do this earlier. Course was loaded with maintenance workers mowing fairways and around greens. They were reluctant to get out of the way- made me feel I was inconveniencing them as I tried to play. No GPS on the carts, no layout of the course on the scorecard or hole markers. After the round, I explained this to the pro shop front desk, and his comment was "sorry you had a bad day to to play, hope you can find a course you like". I already had the day before- Recommendation: don't play this course on a Wednesday! Play Oak Creek instead (on any day of the week).
Not as good as ratings
Course played like a mini. To many holes side by side. The back nine was better. Warm up area was small and tight. Driving range played up hill. Staff seemed like they didn't care if they had any customers. Definitely not worth the price.
Nice course, but very little information
We enjoyed the round. Pace-of-play was excellent. Fairways and greens were in very good shape. Staff was very friendly.
The biggest issue, (and it's a big one), is that there is NO information regarding each hole.
No GPS (which is no big deal to me)
No hole layout plaque on tee boxes (showing dog-legs, barranca's, sand traps, size of green, etc...
Only 150 yard stakes on each hole, (NO 100 or 200 yard stakes).
It would take me multiple rounds to gain course knowledge enough to really enjoy playing here... the problem with that is... it cost around $130 each person to play!!! WAY too expensive for this course, (in my opinion).
I had a GolfNow gift card, (Hot Deals ONLY), and was able to get a morning tee time... that's the only reason I played here. At this price, I doubt I'll be playing here again.
