Poor greens
Greens are not in playing condition,if I new I would not of played their
Not hood
All Fairways punched… like big dog turds all over fairways and tee boxes.
Greens are terrible
Coming along
Fairways just aerated, greens thin but improved. Working to get back in good shape.
First Timer
Played the Dunes and Vista. Fairways and tees were aerated on the Dunes course but didn’t cause an issue. Greens are suffering from winter kill and are tough to putt. Fair price, great course layout and will play again next time in Orange Beach. Staff was very welcoming. Starter was helpful.
Greens are getting better.
Fairways still look very good. The greens are getting better every week.
Greens are filling in, Getting better.
Played here several times this year. Greens are filling in, but still a few in rough shape. Getting better.
good value
the greens are small. the greens got a fungus or disease. they are very beat up. it's a tough track. i have always played the dunes and vista nines. first time playing the lakes. lakes is shorter and in good shape. if i had to pick the best to play. it would be lakes vista combo.
Greens were in shamefully poor condition
Glenlakes is one of my favorite courses. I particularly love the staff and course layout. Unfortunately, the course greens are in embarrassing condition. An advisory should have been made available when providing tee times. Instead, the full green fee price was charged knowing full well that the couse conditions were insanely sub-par. I was ashamed to have invited my out of town military guest to play under these course conditions.
Greens
The greens are still in terrible shape, but you can practice other parts of your game. No sense keeping a real score with the conditions of the greens.
Very disappointed that they don’t inform you prior to playing.
Greens gradually improving
The greens are gradually improving. The rate of play was great until we hit 13, then we caught up to the log jam, but even then the wait wasn't that bad. When the greens have come back, the course will definitely be on my list of favorites.
Horrible Greens
All 18 greens are toast! A few patches of grass surrounded by dirt. Avoid playing until greens can be fixed or replaced.
They lost their course
Have played here many times over the past 20 years. Originally a superb course designed by Bruce Devlin. They really never had the money to keep it up, but it has mostly been a pretty good course in pretty good shape.
Last time i played (last fall) the course was Ok but they were not doing anything for pace of play, and it took well over 5 hours.
This time (5/6/2025) the course was a disaster. The greens were 25-50% dirt. The little grass they had was slow but patchy and bumpy. The dirt was dirt. balls hit hard dirt and bounced like concrete, but some of the bare spots on the greens were soft ground and so soft you could plan on anything.
Several traps have been grown over with grass.
I expect I have played on a worse course from the standpoint of conditioning, but I can't remember when or where. It is a shame-the two Devlin nines were challenging years ago........
