Nice
Nice beginner course great bang for your buck needs new golf carts
Depends what you're looking for
This isn't a full size course and it's only in average condition, but that's perfect because the friends I play with here aren't serious golfers. They only play a couple times a year and playing a full sized course is much too frustrating for them and takes forever. This course allows them to enjoy a round in about 3.5 hours and not get as frustrated.
The course is under new management and the new pro-shop staff hasn't quite figured the system out yet, but they were polite and apologized when they made a mistake.
On the down side, if you are a serious golfer, you'll probably be disappointed in the conditions, as well as in how easy the course is. On a standard par-72 golf course, I shoot around a 95. However, at Glades, where par is 65, I shot a 70. While it was fun for me to actually play a really good round, most serious golfers will probably be disappointed.
Greens were well kept
The golf course was in good shape but not a value, in addition I got shafted on the booking experience. Note for future, when they want to charge your credit card in advance...run. What I was led to believe was a portion of my greens fee paid in advance was actually explained to me at the course to be a booking fee of $15 and change. So I was charged full price for the foursone and an additional $15. Live and learn, never using Golf Advisor again!
colonny west glades
Not bad for a local course.
Well kept and maintained
Enough of a challenge for beginners and intermediates. water hazards and bunkers come into play every hole.
Colony West Glades
Long and short holes. Great for beginners or seniors. Corse conditions very much improved over the past few years. Excellent value for the money if booking thru Golf Now.
A work in progress
This course is on it's way back after many years of neglect. New management is doing a great job with upgrading the course. Staff is very friendly and inviting and the restaurant aroma filled the facility and smelled great! A great value & definitely worth multiple return visits on both the Championship & West courses.
Great for a practice round
Got out earlier then tee time. Par 65. Fairways good along with greens. Finished in three hours.
Not bad, not good.
As a golfer coming back from a long layoff I felt that an easy course that's not long distance would be suitable for me. The Glades course fit the bill nicely. As a golf course, it is nicely maintained but lacking features. At times I was lost trying to figure out where the next whole ones. There were no real good directions.
Pros: The price was good. I do not want to spend a lot of money in the morning.
Pros: finished the course in 2 hours so there was no waiting.
Cons: very bare course. There were no real distinguishing features to talk about.
Cons: there was no driving range. How was somebody supposed to play well seven in the morning without warming up first.
Cons: no real yardage markers. If you are going to play the course make sure you have a GPS finder or app.
A very enjoyable course
Overall a fun course without too many difficult situations. The Club overall is inviting and well managed and maintained
Fun executive course
Last summer the greens were excellent. Today they were a bit dry, as was the entire course. The greens were faster than I have ever seen in 5 years of playing here. The course has good variety, plenty of short par 3's, and several nice par 4's. If your a long hitter, don't bother, but everyone else will enjoy it.
great getaway
Fun excutive course greens in good shape uncrowded ggod place to getaway from the seasonal crowds
Okay Executive Course
While it would have been nice the greens were 'sanded' recently it had little impact on play. The course is basically an executive layout to compliment the Colony West regular (Championship) course. With a beginner in the group and being unfamiliar with the course the pace of play was quick. The course is in average condition but with the price paid made it a good value.
Very Good Outting!
The weather was perfect and the course was very good.
to many bumps and holes on the paths.
good course for beginners, you can test your driver as well as your short irons, small course.
Good course for everyone
The just open in the middle of december but à lot of work on the course hâve been done .
Course in Recovery
I golfed the executive course, The Glades, at Colony West yesterday. The weather was sunny and brilliant, but the intense rainstorms that occurred 3 hours earlier left a few soggy spots in the fairways and rough - not intolerable given the amount of rain that came down. The course layout is moderately challenging and best played by people who have lost some distance in their later years. Accuracy is rewarded and good scoring is available to those who can play a Par 3 and mid-distance fairway shots on short Par 4s. I will return. The value is there and it is great to play a round in under 4 hours, actually under 3 hours (we had no one in front of us for the entire round).
Nice carts and ball washers
We did not realize this course was so short and in such poor condition. Most of the greens were fair to poor. The cart paths were pretty much nonexistent.Little sand in the traps & also small stones as part of the mix.The course name makes you think it is a much better course than it actually is.When I say short the final hole rated as a par 4 was140 yds. from the white tees!,the only par 5 was
402 yds.!This should not be called a real golf course.
Improved
The course is in pretty good shape. Needs a little more improvement. Price a little on the high side for an executive course. Golf now price of $20.00 was a great discount. The regular price of $33.00 is a big jump from previous years. A price of $25- 28 is much more in line for this course. If the price was reduced business would increase dramatically.
Enjoyable afternoon
The course could use some work, but having said that my friend and I had a wonderful afternoon of golf. We had a little trouble finding our way around since it wasn't marked very well. An d there are no yardage markers, making it difficult to figure how far away your ball was from hole.
With a little tlc this course would be a gem. I will play there again.
