I'd come back
I signed up to play the legend course and ended up playing the resort course. If you keep the ball in play, you're good. With all the sand, trees, and wind; I don't recommend any hero shots if you do go off line. Watch out for the double green on 3 and 16.

Golf in the desert
We played the Legend side. Nice course. Friendly staff.
Drawback is lots of housing on the course. Good for a higher handicap player with few obstacles. Not challenging enough for a better player.
The starter was extremely friendly and caught up with us after our round to ask if we enjoyed our round.

We played as a twosome so we were able to work on our game but the course is flat and straight on every hole, but nice people will play La Quinta tomorrow..

Protected from the Wind!
Today is one of the windiest days I have seen here or anywhere, but when we arrived at the golf course for our 9:00 tee time, there was no wind, only a perfect day of golf. No standing water on the course, nice fairways and putt-able greens. We fully enjoyed our day and plan to return.
