Mission Hills - Gary Player Course

It is a Gary Player signature course, so I expected an interesting and challenging layout. Instead, I found the front nine boringly simple. There is no rough. The fairways are wide. The greens are flat. Every putt is straight.

The back nine looks and plays like it was designed by another person. Many of the greens were protected by bunkering and water. The run-ups weren't all flat. Much more interesting.

However, what is a killer in my opinion is the bunkers had dirt instead of sand. I was told the wind often blows sand out of the traps, but I've played courses where they use a heavier sand to combat that problem. On top of that, many of the bunkers were not maintained well.

Had a great time at Gary player mission hills course today. Greens were in good shape and this course gives you all you want. Great value and pace was great. Well definitely play here again

Low handicappers might not find this course challenging enough but mid/high handicappers will find it ejoyable. Course is kept in excellent condition and there's nothing "tricked up" about the course. It plays very fair and rewards good shot-making. I've played it twice and am a fan.

This was my first time playing the Mission Hills Gary Player course. Really enjoyed the round. It’s an interesting track with just enough water and other hazards to keep you honest and had gorgeous views of the mountains. Course was well maintained and the staff was friendly and helpful. Only issue was when I went to post my score. I had trouble locating the course. Turns out on you have to select Mission Hills North to post your score.

The grounds (fencing, off course landscaping, cart paths) all need some tlc; The course is showing it's age.

For some reason, no beverage cart service. It was a holiday week, so we felt lucky to get a last minute tee time, and the price was reasonable for a resort town.

For the money, I found many courses locally that outperformed the gary player MissionHills, I’d recommend playing this course, but the greens keepers have been sleeping. Anything off the fairway is in my neighbor’s yard, unkept and dirty.

I truly enjoyed playing this course. It was in great shape and I loved the layout. I think the price was a little high when I compare it to others in the area, and because of that, there weren’t many people out there, which allowed me to zip on through. I love it when I can play a fast round!

Course was in great shape. Solid course for the price. Greens rolled true and easy to hit your line, on the slower side but that was more because of the dew. Teed off at 7am and finished at 10am. Starter was laid back and easy to talk to. Everyone there was accommodating. Would recommend and would play again.

I had interaction with two starters and both of them were extremely helpful, friendly, and very accommodating.

We play this course once or twice a year. Never been in better shape!

Nice fairways, greens fast, course is in great condition.

Overall, this course is good to play, the condition is good, some area got dirty due to last night big rain, But acceptable. The only thing i think need approvemnebt is the green speed, very slow
