Flamingo Course Review
excellent overall. Loved the staff and ease of play. The day we played the course was wide open making it feel like a private course. Friendly staff and others on the course. Great course layout making it possible to drive each hole and stay in play.
Highly recommend.
What You Should Expect From A Resort Course
Another of the great off season rates that make this course affordable to locals once the temperatures rise. The course is typical SW Florida: many tees to suite your game, lots of water carries, fast greens, good carts, and excellent service.
Not Particularly Memorable Golf Course
GPS System on carts did not work. Layout of the par 4's was quite repetitive. No memorable "signature" hole or holes
Course needs a few weeks
Course has a good layout and greens where recently air aided but ran fast and reasonable true. Played it before in much better conditions but it is a great course that needs a few weeks to settle in
Was very disappointed with Flamingo Course condition. NOT ONE TEE was level.... fairways were beat up and the greens were not in good shape at all.
Had played Mustang last week & felt it was a really good golf course. Exact opposite of what I had experienced at Flamingo. The greens on Mustang were phenomenal! The holes were also way better in general, plus the course condition, especially the tee boxes were far superior!
If you plan on playing Lely, would strongly recommend you play Mustang.... way better value and a really fun layout!
Difficult, condition just ok, little character
10 handicap and thought the course was very poor value for the money. Paid the rack rate the first time ( $180) and got a deal the second ( $106) didn't enjoy either, won't be going back. Holes uninteresting, condition average, try Hammock Bay or the Rookery around the corner. Both MUCH better condition and much more interesting. Rookery difficulty about the same as Lely, Hammock a little bit easier. Both much more scenic .
Fl amingo a tough course but good condition. Only saw ranger once. Pace could have been better.
A Little Pricey - But Worth It
We played the Flamingo course. The staff was fantastic - very welcoming. The pace of play was great. Groups are spread out at least 10 minutes apart. The course provides a very good challenge with several approach shots over water. My biggest challenge was the positioning of fairway bunkers in the landing are of drives. You need to be accurate off the tee or have a good fairway bunker game! We paid $139 for a 12:30 tee time which was more than I normally like to pay, but this course was worth it.
Summary
Very nice course in good condition. Fast greens with many bunkers
Busy Course
The Lely Resort is a busy, busy place given they have two 18 hole courses. The pace of play was slow as we had a foursome in front of us that really slowed down on the back. The course layout is difficult. We were disappointed in the course condition given the fee we payed to play. Would try the course again but it is priced pretty high.
Flamingo Golf Course at Lely
We had a really enjoyable day even with the 1-2 club wind that always seems to be at Lely. The course is always a challenge with tight fairways and lots of bunkers.
The greens are firm and fast and not too tricked up
Pace of play was very good and the course was in good shape throughout
Loved it
The course was beautiful and we played twilight golf which meant the pace of play was super fast. We actually got all 18 holes in. And we had dinner at Sam Snead's which was awesome.
Ok Course
No real memorable holes just a nice course. Bunkers need work, packed sand, maintenance needed. Greens were very good and true. The course was pricey maybe Mustang would be better choice.
