Lely Resort Golf & Country Club - Flamingo Island Course

All 4 of us believe that the money for the green fees would be best put to work by manicuring the grounds. Hard traps scuffed fairways. Even the holes seemed to rarely be rotated. Sorry. Many of our Lexington Ky friends will be told that this would be the least value for golf dollars.

Five tees and varied terrain. Expensive for what it is and it was not in as pristine condition as other courses in the area.

Not a good value for the money and to add insult to injury finished the round in the dark over 21 minutes off pace with a 1:45 starting tee time.

Course is much less challenging since they put into effect the white/aqua mixture of tees which brought the distance down to 5500 yards.

First class operation. Golf staff very friendly and helpful. Got there early and we could have gone right off. Used their great practice facility to get warmed up.

Several tee and course set up possibilities but we chose plain white which measured about 6,000 yards. We were joined by two really great guys from Ottawa Canada and we had a super time. No one in front and no one behind. Great layout and the greens were fast and true. Generally in very good shape with fairly fast fairways and a cut down rough. Finished with a birdie on the last hole so I will be back. This was the Flamingo course. Sam Snead's tavern is a super spot for lunch, dinner, or a drink.

My son and I played. We had scheduled to play at noon but the starter put us out at 11:30. We got held up slightly on 7 through 9 then that group went in for lunch and we played until 13 where three young boys let us play through so we finished in 3 hours with very little delay. Enjoyed Sam Snead's after the round for happy hour/lunch. We played the green/white course which is about 6200 yards and at 64 that is plenty of distance for me but a little short for my son. Enjoyed the experience but doubt I would pay over $100 to play there

The course just opened from 2 weeks of maintenance.

The the conditions could have been a little better. Fairways were a little sparse and the greens a little bumpy.

First, let me say, there was some confusion with my booking. T time of 6:54 thru Golf Now, paid a good price and used bonus dollars for extra deal. Course was surprised by number, but let me play, telling me "we'll give golf now a call". Went around first out in just over 2 hours for 18. Lovely.

Course was much better than when I played a few years ago. Played through workers about 9th hole, so back side wasn't spruced up, and greens uncut, and a bit rough. However, on front, it was obvious that greens were in excellent condition (as was rest of course). They do get premium dollars in season, 99 now, and even more come Jan. There are certainly better bargains around. With so many good courses in the area, choose value perhaps over a name.

The Course was in excellent condition, the putting green and driving range are excellent ..... and Sam Snead's Tavern is great.

Good range of tee positions for all skill levels.

Variety of challenges on most holes, bunkers, water hzds, elevation changes.

I usually love playing these courses. I thought mustang fairway was a little beat up. Course not in best shape. First time in about 20 plays. I will try again.

This was second time, that I had played the course, and if anything, the layout was better than I had remembered before. The pace of play was vg, but that was partly due to course being relatively quiet. The three of us managed round in 3.75hrs, and this from a combination of back and forward tees. Course condition was tidy, but greens were only average. Second nine holes definitely better than front nine. Practice facilities fine, and staff very friendly. We had a vg deal, paying only around $40, so represented good value at that price. At normal rates of around $90+, it would then become more marginal.

Overall, however, this is a course worthy of a visit.

Course was in decent condition, fairways a little ragged but overall good shape ,greens were great. Good layout , enjoyed my round..

Great course with quick pace of play. Greens are best I have played in Florida with speed. Cart girl came around frequently as it was hot I would love to play this course again

Since it's off season, we got a great price. Course a little soggy in some places but overall in great shape. My wife and I played in 3hrs. 15min.

very good shape, greens rolled true, friendly staff, great restaurant and bar, played late in the day and did not see a drink cart the whole round, a little pricey for the area but not run over by amateurs or walker which is nice, pace of play good on front 9 bad on back 9 no rangers to move things along

Tee boxes not in good shape fairways not in good shape. Greens rolled true. For 35 still a great bargain if they. Expect to get seasonal rates they had better work on course.
