Great course in sw florida. Greens are the best I've ever played. The staff is very friendly.
Beautiful course. Outstanding greens. There are a lotvof great courses in SW Florida and this is one of the must play courses. The staff is very friendly.
good holes
it was very good golf place and with great good Holes
The course layout was enjoyable and easy to play
The course was in good condition. We only played it because of the 'Hot Deal'. We wouldn't pay full price to play here.
great value
We ended up playing the Mustang Course, because because they had just aireated the greens. The Musang course is supposed to be less challenging. It was perfect.
Nice Flamingo course
The course was very well kept and great value for the twilight time. I was a little lost playing this course for the first time. There was no gps in the carts and the sprinklers were not even marked most of the time. On par 3's it was a guessing game hoping the scorecard had the right yardage.
A nice layout but very wet
I have played the Flamingo course a number of times, never as cheaply as this time with the "Hot Deal" at $18 plus tax. However, the rental sets are, to me, extortionate at $45 per set for a round. Nice enough clubs (Nike) but not worth that price.
You also get three complimentary pinnacles which is a nice touch.
The course itself was extremely wet and we lost a couple of balls due to plugging on the fairways.
Great looking course but not notice of maintenance being everywhere that morning
Maintenance crew was everywhere and I could not finish 3 hole. Then when I asked about the range they told me it was closed, who in the morning they said I could practice after I play. Poor communication throughout staff obviously. I was definitely not worth the money I paid for that day.
The course itself I magnificent, but those condition made it horrible.
Enjoyable challenge
Course was in good condition, one of the better ones I have played this summer. Lots of undulation, mounding in fairways. Large greens that were fairly quick. Well bunkered.
Good value for the money, always seem to be sand on greens though
Course was empty, played by myself. The Flamingo stays a bit wet, but course is in very good condition. Bunkers are excellent, greens always seem to have sand on them though.
Wide open fairways, well-tended course with friendly staff.
I / we play this course every time we're in Naples - ONe of our top 5 courses.
Would not recoomend because of undifference of staff and so-so conditions of course.
When I arrived at the bag drop off there was on one to greet me. I parked my car and then someone showed. When I asked if this was the right golf course in Lely that I had made reservations, he acknowledged but no effort to escort back to my car for the clubs. Pro shop wasn't much different. Had to seek out and ask the bag guy where the first tee was located. Would not go back or recommend.
It was cart path only
Evevthough it was wet the course was a lot of fun to play.
Disappointing
Overall I was really unhappy with how this course turned out. I'm not even sure why they call it a golf resort.
The start and end of my day were unpleasant experiences with bag drop attendants who looked as if they could care less who played. The pro shop person and cart girl were both friendly and helpful though.
As for the course, it really needs some work. Mud ball off every tee, on a day where it didn't rain at all. Greens are pretty rough around the edges but roll surprisingly well. Also, the championship tee markers were not placed on every hole... As if to say that no one plays them? Well I was back there.
Pace of play is horribly slow. Due in part to the speed of the carts, and lack of rangers. If you play here plan for 5 hours plus.
Course layout was ok, not as great as advertised. At the end of the day if you play here cheaply and don't mind a course that needs some attention, you may enjoy it. I personally will not be back, simply because of the lack of maintenance.
An attractive resort course
My wife and I played on my birthday... Overall, an attractive, well maintained course.... They'd had a lot of rain recently and first 2 holes were cart paths only and the rest of the course was very wet. We enjoyed playing and will try again in the future when it's dry.
lely
The Flamingo was the only course open. It was extremely wet and cart path only was allowed. We would have been better off walking because the cart paths are so far from the fairways. Also, we weren't told all the greens had been top dressed. We quit after 9 holes. This was my first bad experience at Lely. It wasn't their fault that it rained, however, the course probably should have been closed.
Sub-par course!
I was really looking forward to playing this course. The pictures on the website look amazing however i was extremely disappointed. The associate behind the counter was unfriendly and was quick to get me out of the pro shop. Didn't explain course rules or where things were located. There is no starter to point you in the right direction either. The course was in awful condition. The fairways looked dead, the greens had had sand all over them so you couldn't really putt well. Overall this course was sub par. Play another course in the area.
course was too wet to play
good course but just too wet for play never should have been open to public even for $70 no ranger on course group in front of us very slow finally let us play through on 12th hole after call to pro shop. I liked the layout just to wet cart path only but even the paths where overfilled with water also said greens where back from being plugged not the case not impressed recommend play Hammock Bay or the Rookery instead both top notch courses and staff excellent
Not worth playing Flamingo in this condition
After the heavy rain the course is in a very bad condition. On the fairways, it's almost impossible to find à dry spot to place your feet or the ball on. Outside the fairways you can't even find your ball, the grass is too long. Greens where heavily sanded. Wide fairways make the play very slow when it's car paths only. We quit playing after 9 holes in 2h30m. We paid $49 but without a word about the condition of the course.
Great value for the money...
Great golf course for anyone. Has driving range and GPS included in price.
Gem not taken care of
We were really disappointed by this course. It was in terrible shape (greens aerrated, traps full of "not sand" and fairways had not been cut in a long time.....as long as the rough in most parts).
To make matters worse, the sprinklers were running on all of the front nine greens until we walked on to them (they were following us). Traps were soaked because of this and the aerrated greens were impossible to read/play. We had to flag down a grounds crew to stop this from happening.
Finally, they left the sprinklers on while we played the 18 th green (got soaked and not fun playing while getting sprayed).
We went into the clubhouse afterwards to raise our concerns and were very casually dismissed with no apology.
There are much better courses in the area for similar our less money. Play elsewhere!
