Perfect Weather
Great day to play golf. Wish my score was as perfect. Pace was excellent on front nine, went to heck on back.
Still didn’t spoil our round too much.
The chicken Cesar wrap after the round was excellent, as was the server. Still my favorite course to play in Daytona.
Gorgeous course but…
Played the Slammer and Squire today and the course is wonderful. However, my tee time was 4:04 pm with a sunset at 7:40 pm. Asked if we could finish in the light and was told yes! But is was obvious the course over scheduled too many tee times in the late afternoon/ early evening to finish 18 holes. Pace of play was about 15 -18 minutes per hole. Got the feeling that World Golf was seeing a chance to make money in the late day with no thought to having people play 18! Shame on them! My past experiences with World Golf have been great but no excuse for this pace of play!
Disappointed
After reading reviews I was aware of course issues but our 4some still decided to give it a shot. Upon arrival there was no one to greet us at the bag drop. When someone did appear, they told us there weren't any carts available yet. When we did get carts, they were dirty and missing scorecards. We got to the starter and were told they were running late (15mins) We finally teed off and waited on every hole. Our round lasted 5+ hours and both of our carts died going up the 18th fairway. We noticed workers driving carts onto the course and asked for help, but they told us there were 5 other carts on the course they needed to get to first. We grabbed our bags and walked up 18 to finish. When we walked to our car, we told the workers our carts died and were in the middle of 18. No apology, no nothing, just "OK thanks". Nice course but sorely mis managed. Tee times bunched up too close, no supervision and not worth the long and frustrating day to play this course.
Great Fun
Pretty open and good shape. Lots of sand. Guess that's Florida!
Great Public Golf
I played the LPGA Jones course last year too, and the Hills course as well. This is a great facility, and until the end of the round, when I went to the men's room and saw the state of it, I almost forgot I was at a facility open to the public. Clean the toilets! The course itself is in great shape considering the amount of play it gets. It's challenging, but not as challenging as the Hills course, which is one of the hardest you'll play. I will complain about the pace of play. There were people in front of us who had nowhere to go. However, it seems to me that there are a lot of sporadic play golfers here, or people who play only a few times while vacationing. With my HI, I should never be one of the better golfers on the course. the round took 4:50. Too long.
AMAZING
This is truly the best course in Volusia and Flager county. I play twice a week and am strongly considering this course to become a member. It never disappoints!
hot & slow
The course is in great shape and a fair challenge. Our only complaint is how slow the play was.. We were waiting at every tee box (just as the group ahead of us was).. The heat didn't help any.
Slow play
8 people on a par 3 green is unacceptable. Front 9 ok. Back 9 horrible. No ranger. No cart girl. Seems like a money grab. Won't be back.
Perfect meeting spit for me and my son who's at UCF...but has gone downhill in the past 4 to 5 years.
Average, at best
Played this course for the first time for a GolfNow special rate, less than fees inline. It’s not worth $100/round and not worth the GN rate. Many tee boxes were chewed up. Greens were good. Sand traps were inconsistent. Staff was pathetic. No one to take my bag, no one telling me where to go, which cart to take where the first hole was etc. I stood in line to pay while several staff talked about hockey. Finally one waited on me. Strange experience for a highly rated course.
Wet wet wet
Poor course was basically underwater. Tuff place to walk for sure. Great layout
Poor Management- Golf and Restaurant
This isn’t a very nice review and they have earned it. Pace of play was ridiculous. 3 hrs for 9 holes. Quit after 9. They had a college tournament out in front of us and obviously the slow play started there. Club knowing this should never had booked tee times right up against the college. They had men on one course and ladies on the other. Why not put all the college kids off one course. Leave a buffer between them and the next group. Talked to the pro shop and they acted like this was ok. They actually put 2 threesomes together in front of us and the PA actually tried to justify doing this. An industry that constantly fights slow play and fights to keep from losing players, this type of mentality won’t help the cause. Here is the LPGA home course and you would think they would be in the fore front to fight this. Not the case by the Pro Shops mentality and attitude.
Restaurant ran out of food. Wanted to eat there after 9 holes before we headed home. Nope, couldn’t do that because they had no food.
Know I travel every week for business and I never complain about service because how hard it is to get staff etc. This wasn’t the issue at all. Very very poorly managed in all aspects.
Sand traps
Most sand traps were full of water or hard packed! Cart path only as there was a lot of rain over night
Waterlogged but fun
Course was great shape but very wet due to overnight rains
Bunkers were lakes and unplayable due to the rains. Will definitely play again!
LPGA - Jones Course
It's in great shape. Layout and design top-notch. Tough to score well as wind was really blowing hard on a couple holes. Enjoyed it:)
