Tucked away in the beautiful Ft. Caroline area near Jacksonville, Hidden Hills Country Club stands on a historic battleground that witnessed the fierce struggles between France and Spain and continued into golf history with searing competition during the heyday of the Greater Jacksonville Open.
The 6,892-yard private golf course, built in 1966 on an ancient sand dune, was redesigned by Arnold Palmer in 1986. Palmer's creativity helped create a championship-caliber golf course unmatched in natural beauty that makes excellent use of rare hilly terrain to create a unique Florida golf challenge. The fairways are lined with majestic pines and stately oaks, and the unpredictable greens have helped Hidden Hills gain the reputation of being one of the most challenging courses in North Florida.
Sharp doglegs, strategic placement of water hazards and putting surfaces that are mostly elevated serve up a mighty test for the low handicapper. Approaches are narrow and many of Hidden Hills Country Club's greens are well bunkered.
Hidden Hills has a rating of 74.0 from the championship tees, and the slope rating is 136.

Needs some water
Course was very dry and hard! Not spending any money to water. Tee boxes are basically sand. Course was in better shape in Jan and Feb when I played.

It was great My second didn’t show up and Tony at the pro shop said that golf now would have to refund the $32, I would be fine with a credit with golf now for next booking, thanks!

Getting there
Course is starting to show some improvement but tee boxes still need help. We finished in exactly 4 hours and that was with having to wait on almost every tee box.

Hidden Hills
The course was in okay shape. Some of the greens were burnt and dry. A fair amount of hardpan close to the greens which called for too many off green putts :)

Pace
Pace of play is #1 most important aspect of golf…
4 hr and 45 mins for the front 9, not a ranger or pro in sight, I’m a seller.. paid for 18, left after 9, would have happily paid an even greater exit tax to get off that course..
Get your stuff together, could be really good, 5 and 1/2 hour pace…never again..
