Windy Harbor Golf Club
About
Windy Harbor Golf Club is a military golf course located at the Mayport Naval Station, it was formerly known as the Mayport Golf Club. The seaside course now takes its name from the blustery ocean breezes that sweep through the back nine. The golf course is narrow with tree-lined fairways and large, fast greens that are slightly sloped. There is also a defined cut of rough beside every fairway. Greenside bunkers and water hazards that come into play on nearly every hole make the course challenging for players of all abilities. Windy Harbor Golf Club also has practice facilities for golfers to use that include a driving range with grass and carpeted practice tees, a practice sand trap, and a large putting green.

Needs better starting management
The course is a great value and fun to play. The problem is the management of starting play with too many twosomes and singles. There are many seniors who play this course and the pace of play can be slow. The twosomes get aggravated and push these foursomes into a pace that makes it tough to enjoy your round if you are matched with the seniors or slower players.
Lived up to its name!
Windy Harbor lived up to its name today! Quite a lot of golfers today, but after about 3 holes it seemed to spread out ok. Beverages on course very expensive compared to buying inside Bogeys. Paired with two nice gentlemen. Very enjoyable round.
It’s on a navy base do they typically keep up with rules and course quality. This was I’d say 4/5 stars
The course is in good shape it it lived up to it’s name very windy.
Always fun to play here greens are fast and true, if you are hitting the ball well you can score here
Great course conditions; crowded/slow
Admittedly, the course could not be better condition-wise for the money. The course superintendent is incredible!
BUT… It has stayed packed lately and no on course marshall, so regularly SLOW pace of play will challenge your patience. Also not enough staff at Bogeys restaurant, and they have raised their prices to the point where the food is no longer a value; so basically you have prolonged waits for sub-par food that takes forever to arrive - not ideal.
Getting tee times has become impossible for those who have to call in, so people who work and can only play weekends are fresh out of luck.
Overall great little course that was supposed to be a benefit for the servicemembers stationed there has instead become a victim of their own success, as they clearly prioritize making money from civilians over taking care of their military customers.
Best I’ve ever seen it!
May be the best I’ve ever seen their greens. Rolled smooth and fast. Compared to other public courses in Jax area this is not only best deal but even in great shape too. Haven’t played here in about 2-3 months but it will be a regular track from now on. Tees, fairways, greens, and bunkers are in top shape. Worth getting your MWR card for free.
Pace of play is ridiculously slow
Please have someone on course to help pace of play… unless you hit this course late in day it will be over a 5 hour round
Nas Mayport golf course / need MWR Card to enter
1st time on golf course, played as a single. Played with 2 other golfers. All played white tees. I think it was very challenging but will help improve your golf game by being challenging. Lots of water and sand. Saw a 7foot alligator on the white tee box on a par 3 on the back 9. Favorite hole 16th par 3 205yard longest par 3 I ever played its small and challenging. Good luck out there. Don't forget you can't enter the base without a MWR Card
