The Golf Club at Bluewater Bay

This course appeared to be making a come-back about a month ago, but what a difference a month makes. Front desk ladies are great but when we started driving from the parking lot 8 minutes before our tee time down the 5-minute drive to the first tee but were chased down by the cart guy (Joe, the jerk) yelling that he didn't tell us to go. He eventually told us to go ahead since we had started and there was no one in sight when we got to the tee. Once on the course, we found that the course has degraded greatly. The greens were brown packed grass with sandy spots with no grass. The fairways looked like they haven't been watered in weeks, and the tee boxes were mostly dead grass and divots. I live local to this course and it is easily one of the worst courses in the area. After our experience this morning with the course and the cart guy, I won't go back anytime soon even if it were free - mark this one off the list of courses my golf group will play in the near future.

The greens have deteriorated quickly in the past two weeks as the winter rye died off. The course was literally empty, yet Joe the start felt it necessary to chase our group through the parking lot screaming at us for heading to the 1st tee 10 minutes before our tee time. Mind you, it’s a 10 minute ride to the 1st tee. Get there, and not a soul in front of us to worry about “rushing”.

Totally disappointed for what they’re charging to play.

This course used to be very nice, but it's now obvious that Bluewater Bay is not putting any money into the course. The bar/restaurant was closed (in the middle of the day) and there was no cart person.

The greens are in horrible condition and the fairways haven't been seeded in a good while. The only good thing about the rounds was our golf cart. It was ungoverned and would absolutely fly. At least driving it was a blast.

Believe the reviews. One of the worst courses ever Almost no grass in fairways or greens. All seem to be burned out and uncared for. No drinking water on the course. Most holeas on Bay course are different than gps watch databases. Shame on Golfnow for offering it...at any price.

Very unusual course. Staff was very nice. Course fairways are not in good shape but holes were laid out well and challenging. not much turf on fairways, but good rolls on drives. Greens are very slow. Only played 9 holes and apparently the back nine was the better 9.

A real dump. No grass, dirt everywhere, very poorly maintained. Greens were OK. Bunkers were surprisingly well maintained. Looked like a course with no money & hanging on for dear life. In a community with nice homes, so I thought the course might be all right. I was wrong. If you are in Destin or Fort Walton Beach area, pick someplace else.

Love this course, the people who work here are 1st class, always so friendly. The course used to have more than just the two nines and a driving range and course isnt always in best shape, but there are some great holes, its an awesome layout and greens are starting to come in nicely, if this course had more funding, you could see the potential. Judge the wind wisely here ! Overall its one of my faves just always not in best condition, but they do the best for what they are given. Look forward fo greens growing in, will be back !

This course should close. Hasn’t been maintained in years. Bathrooms were deplorable. Please remove this course from GolfNow. And to top it off, the let 6 players tee off before us. GolfNow please have some standards for courses in your system.

We played the first nine in good time, then a foursome showed up as we were driving to the second nine. They caused a significant delay and play was slow for the last holes. Everyone was supposed to ho off yhe Marsh course. Then on to the Bay course. This group didn't do that and took a lot of the enjoyment out of the round with having to constantly wait.

Also, three of our golfers had GPS.watches and could not get the yardage and holes to match up. Possibly, an update to the info supplied would be in order.

The course was in good shape considering the time of year. The greens are coming in nicely.

Many shots required hitting off hard packed dirt over bunkers. Greens weren’t much better. I played last year at the same time of year. I was impressed with the pretty decent conditions. This year was a huge disappointment.

Must be the time of year.

However, I would play it again for 35 bucks.

The tolls to the course and back are what spoils things!!

Was told at the start it would be slow. It was.

The first mine we waited!! The second mine we were blessed by foursomes letting us play thru!

Overall, course was pretty decent!
