TPC Tampa Bay

TPC Tampa Bay was in immaculate condition when I played it. They had just hosted a champions tour q school qualifier the week prior and you could tell. I would absolutely recommend someone make the trip and play her. I can’t want to come back.

I think this course used to host a PGA event. I should again. Great layout, plenty of risk/reward placement and a very welcoming staff. I’ll be back again.

Very nice layout. Challenging and fun. The conditions were a little rough for the price. I found out that the PGA has sold the course to a private company who kept the TPC name. It’s worth a play for the right price.

Course in very good condition will text your game.

I was in town and was able to play this course. It was nice. Pace of play that day was incredibly slow. Still had a good time. Played I’m the final two holes in the dark pretty much so wish I could play again and not spend 5 hours doing so. But I was paired with some nice gents from Scotland and England, so the conversation was good. I was expecting the course to be a little nicer for a TPC course, but that’s would still play it again. It was nice, was fun to play, and the restaurant was good. Maybe my expectations were a little too high for the course, but everything else was spot on. Had a beautiful sunset while playing!

We were lucky to get a hot deal as a threesome and it must have been a very slow day for this track. After teeing off we had nobody behind us until a single caught us after 5 holes and went through. Rest of the day we felt like we had the course to ourselves.

The conditions were great and the greens were very fast and smooth. I love the sand they have in the bunkers! It's so pure and actually nice to hit a ball out of.

This course has lots of fun holes and a few very difficult ones, especially down the stretch! I really enjoyed the layout. There are some houses on the outskirts of the property, but the development doesn't get too close to any of the holes. Most of the round is spent playing between mature trees.

Definitely hope to return!

The course was far below expectations, especially one within the TPC network.

The greens were slow and bumpy. We call them “broccoli greens”.

If a course is going to play like a $40 municipal course, don’t charge $155.

Ironically, after the round, the staff admitted that they were going to replace all of the greens, but delayed it until the end of this year.

The bright spot was the staff. They were very friendly, courteous, and professional.

Sad to say, it was below TPC standards.

For almost $200, I expect the greens to be immaculate. They were slow and terrible. After the round, I was told that they were supposed to replace them earlier this year and postponed it. I’m sure next year will be a different story.

We play this course always when we are in the area and so far we have never been disappointed. Course is in good shape. Greens are fast and true. Challenging if you go for the back tees but managable if you prefer the forward tees. So you can choose based on your level.

Very friendly staff at the bag drop, in the pro shop as well as the starter. Beverage cart seen 3 Times during the round. Place of play was good (3.5 hours for a twosome) . It is expensive but overall worth the money.

Even though I really liked the layout of the course, the condition was far from anything I would describe as pure. Fairways were fine, rough was burnt and the greens are slower than a lot of muni’s I’ve played in the past, they must’ve rolled like an 8 stimp. I know it’s a public TPC so I’m not expecting the same as a Southwind but it’s still a TPC course and should at least make an attempt to be slightly better. The sprinklers went off (it happens, it’s ok) and soaked all of us on the range as we ran off with our bags which was a good idea anyway cause the quality of the grass (and Pinnacle range balls) was unacceptably low.

Started bad at arrival...only got worse...carried my clubs to get a cart no carts available was to to come back 5 minutes before tee time...had to carry my clubs to the range about a 4 min walk...at the Range there were no balls available...and this is a TPC facility I have been treated better at a muni with a 25 dollar rate...had to walk back to get a cart whis was soaking wet where they had sprayed it off after a 3 hour 11 minute front nine called it a day worse experience at any golf facility and I have been to alot I play over 100 rounds a year would never recommend this place to anyone...it cost nothing to be nice and they fail at thus in every way.......
