TPC Tampa Bay can be as challenging as the golfer wants it to be. But be prepared to pay the price for taking the risks. Located just a 20-minute ride from the Tampa International Airport in Lutz, TPC Tampa Bay is open to the public seven days a week. A Bobby Weed design, TPC Tampa Bay is part of a network of courses owned and operated by PGA Tour Golf Course Properties. The fairways have subtle movement and weave through lakes and natural wetlands - 19 in all - and around strategic bunkers that number 81. The greens are large (averaging 6,400 square feet) and undulating, and most are open in the front, offering golfers the option of hitting run-up approach shots. There's a clubhouse and a fully stocked golf shop offering a complete line of equipment and apparel from the top names in golf to complement the course.

Started bad at arrival...only got worse...carried my clubs to get a cart no carts available was to to come back 5 minutes before tee time...had to carry my clubs to the range about a 4 min walk...at the Range there were no balls available...and this is a TPC facility I have been treated better at a muni with a 25 dollar rate...had to walk back to get a cart whis was soaking wet where they had sprayed it off after a 3 hour 11 minute front nine called it a day worse experience at any golf facility and I have been to alot I play over 100 rounds a year would never recommend this place to anyone...it cost nothing to be nice and they fail at thus in every way.......

I am extremely disappointed.

Down for vacation for the week with my buddy on the east coast. We came to Tampa to visit a friend for the last weekend and play a round. Got a GolfNOW HOTDEAL FOR SEVENTY-FIVE dollars. Show up to a friendly staff giving us good instruction and directions. Beautiful pro-shop. We were expecting a great course, however the greens were in the same shape as the fairways. Obviously haven’t been mowed in some time(we played on a Saturday, why would this not be mowed before the weekend?). Stuck behind a group of inexperienced golfers, only got to finish 14 holes in about 3:45. No ranger to push them along. The course layout is great and it is a challenging course. But DO NOT pay the price they want for this course. We played nicer courses all week long for $20. Horrible end to my vacation.

The name TPC through our pairing off! Nearly every Green had several dead spots. The course was soaked. We were told cart path only due to rain over the past few weeks; however, the course was almost unplayable. Fairways were dead so they were soggy and muddy. Cart girl was pretty personable, but nobody else that we interacted with of the staff had similar demeanor. We still deal with this in golf in 2021; such a shame. Long story short, it is a nice municipal course in the $40 range; def not on par with any of the TPC’s I’ve played. I’ll wait until they remodel and maybe give it another shot 2022-2023 season.

Slow day. Cart path only. Some greens (at least 5 of them) not in good condition. Fairways were a little wet in spots, and could have been just a 90 degree rule and not path only. Slow groups ahead of us didn't know how to clear greens after completing a hole and waited around at each one counting up their shots.

Have been to TPC previously and enjoyed the layout and challenge. Apparently they are going to do a massive renovation next year so it looks like maintaining the current state has become an after thought. Practice area completely chewed up as well as tee boxes on course. Greens are almost bare in a lot of areas and remaining grass left like your shag carpet at home. Very disappointed that they have let this good track go down hill and especially for the $100+ green fee still being taken.

Drier course greatly improved playing conditions. Maintenance staff has done a great job getting the course back from very wet conditions! Stay in short grass, rough is high ball easily lost.

Recommend playing if you want a challenge.

If I could give this review zero stars, I would. In this case, TPC stands for This is Pretty Crappy.

My son and I booked a round while passing through on the way to Streamsong. We figured we’d be putting on decent greens, but they were some of the worst I’ve ever seen for a course that considers itself upper echelon. I know they had a lot of rain, but the greens are either diseases or poorly maintained. Bermuda greens should be in their prime during the hot summer months. These greens have bare spots and they were probably a 6 on the Stimpmeter. The fringes at Streamsong were faster and rolled better.

It would have been nice to get some warning when calling the pro shop, but then they would not have gotten greens fees out of me.

There is no way the Tampa course is fitting of being part of the TPC network with those greens.
