The aptly named Hidden Valley Golf Club feels secluded set between two large hillsides, amongst carefully preserved boulder outcroppings, ravines, and an abundance of native flora and fauna. The challenging layout demands accuracy and it will also test your shot-making skills. Golfers should expect to utilize every club in their bag. The golf course features tight fairways lined with mature trees, tricky doglegs, and multi-tiered greens that can be difficult to read. The rolling terrain also promises difficult uphill and downhill lies. Bunkers are strategically placed throughout and there is water on a few holes. A windy day adds yet another formidable element to the challenging design. The diverse layout has a mix of difficult par 3s, reachable par 5s, and a few birdie opportunities. Hidden Valley Golf Club will definitely test your skills, but five sets of tees make the course more approachable to a wide range of skill levels.

Great course

Very nice course with some tough elevations but fun all around. Course is very well maintained but pace of play was a bit slow, would like to see a marshal help speed people along but other wise, a great course I would play again with the hope of faster pace.

Slow Pace

Every other review is correct. Nice course with an interesting layout, just takes forever to finish.

5:40 minute round. Not sure why. They pace out tee-times 10 minutes apart, which is great. Front 9 pace was OK, back 9 was crazy slow.

Kept pulling up to tee box and group in front was still waiting to tee off on almost every hole on back 9.

If you have time to waste, it is a nice course with good views. Worth it if you can get a deal, but I wouldn’t pay full price just because golf should never take that long.

5 hours

The reviews were correct.. you start off 20 minutes behind to start the first hole, every time. 🤷‍♂️

3 hour front nine is not really fun or acceptable. The course looks really good. Wish they would do something about the pace so that this place would rock!!

Very Dissappointig

My son and I were on a Father’s Day golf weekend trip. I play most days. He is just starting to play the game again after 15 years off. We arrived at the first tee at 11:10 AM for our tee time only to be told it was running three groups late. The pace of play was awful. We quit after 9 holes took three hours! The attached photo shows the three group back up at 7 tee!

The description of the course said there were tee boxes which made the course playable by any level of golfer, but my son found many of the forced carries almost impossible, regardless of which tee boxes he used. The round simply became a series of ball sacrifices to the golf gods.

As for me, I found that the ragged greens on the course bore no relation to the excellent putting green. The bunkers had no sand in them and many appeared to be dug up / under construction / full of rocks.

After the partial round I tried to go in to the pro shop to complain. I prefer to give negative feedback in person, to give the course a chance to respond. There was a long line of people at the counter, with very slow service. We left to unload our clubs and went back a few minutes later. The line had barely moved, so we gave up and left. Do not waste your time and money at this place!

Course is in great shape, but slow greens.

Love this course, from the moment you drive in, the views are always incredible. The layout is difficult with a lot of blind shots especially if you’re not long. Tons of desert hazards but fairways are somewhat wide and relatively fair. Lay-ups will get you a great score on most holes, but driver of the tee on a lot of the holes, high risk, high reward. Lots of up-slopes and valley ridges, but a fun challenging course that looks amazing. Greens are a bit inconsistent, and bunkers are hard packed mostly.

Great pace of play

There were hardly any golfers when we played- with a 7:30am tee-off. Pace of play was outstanding.

The course was in very good condition- other than the bunkers. Several were “closed” because pipes were being installed. None of the in play bunkers had sand - whatsoever. It was very hard packed dirt that was virtually impossible to play out of. I am hoping they are preparing to add new sand- because we lost a lot of shots trying to hit out of that nonsense !!!

SOLID TRACK

Had a rare chance to play Hidden Valley GC as a single (the course typically does not allow singles to book except in rare circumstances; a decision that could cause more people to want to play there instead of keep tee times open that would ultimately not be used). The course winds up, down and around beautiful scenery that shocks your senses and challenges your skills. Other than most of the bunkers having no sand/massive cracking in the bottom and the greens more grown out than usual, the course was in good shape and was a fun experience. Looking forward to playing again- ideally with an improvement in listed conditions.

It's getting worse

Pace of play on a Monday morning (9:30) was 5.5 hours. Didn't see any marshalls. Unacceptable!! A guy who was playing in front of us was playing from the black tees. He couldn't even hit the fairways on most holes. Horrible!! Tee boxes need a lot or work. Fairways are decent and the greens are slow, bumpy with unfixed ball marks... the only good thing I can report is it's easy to get decent ttimes there during the week. I would recommend to the owners to raise the greens fees, that would deterr the hackers and spend more money on the course and hire a Marshall.

Excellent !

On the day of my game 5/24 the 91 Fwy had a major Fwy shut down, traffic was impossible. Normally 1.5 hr driving turned into 2.5 hr for me. And many others were late to arrive. The course staff were super accommodating to the situation which they deserved a 5 star feed back for their great effort and amazing job.

Course is beautiful as always!

Beautiful course - Incredibly slow play!!!

We played at 12:10 on a Friday. The course was in wonderful shape! Fairways were pristine and would have been my favorite round of the year were it not for a truly snail’s pace - waiting on every hole resulting in a 5 hour 50 min round…

Beautiful Fun Course.....Extremely Slow Play

Great course and layout. Good value. Beautiful views. Greens looked nice but were a little bumpy, long and slow. Pace of play was TERRIBLE. The group in front of us had no business on this course. They were giving lessons and hitting shots 5 feet or just completely missing the ball. No Marshall to get them moving. It took over 5 hours to play. If pace was better I wouldn't have anything bad to say.
