The aptly named Hidden Valley Golf Club feels secluded set between two large hillsides, amongst carefully preserved boulder outcroppings, ravines, and an abundance of native flora and fauna. The challenging layout demands accuracy and it will also test your shot-making skills. Golfers should expect to utilize every club in their bag. The golf course features tight fairways lined with mature trees, tricky doglegs, and multi-tiered greens that can be difficult to read. The rolling terrain also promises difficult uphill and downhill lies. Bunkers are strategically placed throughout and there is water on a few holes. A windy day adds yet another formidable element to the challenging design. The diverse layout has a mix of difficult par 3s, reachable par 5s, and a few birdie opportunities. Hidden Valley Golf Club will definitely test your skills, but five sets of tees make the course more approachable to a wide range of skill levels.

Pace of play was tragic

Great track, but if it takes 5.5 hrs to play a round on a Friday afternoon, doubt we will be back anytime soon. Greens were also in rough condition.

Don't know what they're doing know greens

They have no clue how to take care of a green they're so fluffy they need at least double cut and verticutting to get that fluffiness down it's ridiculous ball speeds Iike an eighth

Greens are soft and slow and spongy

This course used to be in good shape. Not sure what happened. Greens felt super soft. Thought it wasn’t cut but it was just spongy and bouncy and just not fun. Probably won’t come back here until I hear the greens are fixed.

Great Course

This is a really fun course. Almost like playing a video game with its unique layout. Course was very green. Greens were not at their best (little bumpy and a couple thin spots). Pace of play was nice at 4.5 hours. No beverage cart but there was someone selling drinks at the turn.

Terrible Conditions/$94 on a weekend

I know you can never expect what you will get at HV, but this time was particularly bad. The greens were absolutely horrid. It was honestly like putting on Shag carpet on most of the front 9 and multiple holes on the back 9; tee boxes were in terrible condition. If it were in the $40 range it would be okay, but to charge $94 for that was ridiculous. American Golf should be ashamed to have that under their name. I’ll only be back next year for the annual scramble tournament (no pun intended for those who know the history of HV tourneys)

GREAT course but...

We love this course and plan to keep playing it despite the 60 minute drive. My only issue is that this past weekend the greens were so shaggy, it didn't feel like golf. Grass was way too long. Not just slow. Shaggy. For $94 green fee, not cool. Happy to revise this review if you make it up to us.

Greens are rough

Love this track but haven’t played it in 10 years. Course was in great shape except for the greens. They were tragic. Killed the round. I mean they were really bad. Paid $94 on. Saturday morning. 5 hr round and group in front was behind by 2 holes, Marshall was friendly but not effective. Will return in 10 years.
