The aptly named Hidden Valley Golf Club feels secluded set between two large hillsides, amongst carefully preserved boulder outcroppings, ravines, and an abundance of native flora and fauna. The challenging layout demands accuracy and it will also test your shot-making skills. Golfers should expect to utilize every club in their bag. The golf course features tight fairways lined with mature trees, tricky doglegs, and multi-tiered greens that can be difficult to read. The rolling terrain also promises difficult uphill and downhill lies. Bunkers are strategically placed throughout and there is water on a few holes. A windy day adds yet another formidable element to the challenging design. The diverse layout has a mix of difficult par 3s, reachable par 5s, and a few birdie opportunities. Hidden Valley Golf Club will definitely test your skills, but five sets of tees make the course more approachable to a wide range of skill levels.

Beautiful and challenging.

We had another humbling round at Hidden Valley, and it never gets old. The views are amazing and the course is still pretty well kept, considering the greens were punched. One of my favs for sure.

Staffs are not friendly at all

I went to the golf course with my friend and his wife on 10/01. When we entered the lobby, we did not receive any welcome greeting. My friend came to California from Chicago to see me, but I was ashamed because of them. I told them to this golf course is pretty good. I was disappointed. Other than the staffs, everything was good.

Better Values Elsewhere

Had not played here in a while and after playing, realized why. Most tee boxes were in bad shape and the greens were like putting on broccoli. Pace of play was slow and we waited on most tee boxes and shots for at least several minutes. If there was one positive, the fairways were in decent shape. For $84, it's not much of a value and won't be back anytime soon.

Great Layout But Much To Be Desired

Let me start with this. The course layout is awesome fore the price. Lots of elevation change and bends to make for tough club selection throughout 18. Also not a bad holiday price for $60.

That is about where the fun ended. The greeting staff was cold and couldn’t hold a casual conversation. The driving range is up in a hill and is max 175 yards. The putting green was soaking wet and so hairy I wish I had a sledge hammer as a putter. Some of the greens were so bad that we had to move putts to other parts of the green so we didn’t have to putt through damage. Lost but not least were the cart governors. It is a hilly course and I understand speed bumps and governors for the most extreme parts. However, The course had constant and over the top speed control with speed bumps all around. Made for a frustrating driving and yardage gathering experience. They must have a hardcore insurance plan for cart crashes.

Going to find other courses from now on.

$94 For Those Greens...Are You Kidding Me

Play this course frequently during daylight savings time Mon-Fri for $30 but like so many other courses from the COVID golf boom they've decided to COVID gouge those of us who have supported their course for years and are now charging $94 on Sat & Sun vs. the $70 they used to charge on the weekends. I get to the course 15 minutes before my 8:15 am Saturday tee time this past weekend so running a little late. They now have a cart guy managing who gets what cart which is completely new to me. I'm throwing my bag, etc. on a cart so I can run into the pro shop, check in and head to the putting green to at least putt a little before the round. The "Cart Dictator" tells me, sir you're putting your clubs on the wrong cart. I explain I'm just throwing my clubs on so I can run in, check in and pay but somehow now they care about which cart you take with 30+ lined up in from of the Pro shop. I'm taking the first cart at the end of the line, not trying to take one halfway back, or at the end. I check in, get assigned a specific cart #, sign for it and head down to the first tee. Now there's a starter at the first tee, ok great. Let's keep things paced correctly and know who's up next, etc. I park the cart next to the putting green on the cart path and this guy is telling me I can't park where I have and need to park my cart at a specific spot on the cart path. Are you kidding me.... we finally tee off and I'm expecting the course to be in immaculate shape since I'm paying nearly $100 now to play there. Get to the first green and find the greens haven't been cut in a week, ball marks everywhere, slow and bumpy, etc. Guys, drop the gestapo to get a golf cart, what's the need. You had 30 carts parked to choose from all lined up. AND don't try and tell us where to park the cart at the putting green just before the first tee. I was way behind the first tee, behind the cart that was next on the tee as I was up next so why this guy felt he needed to tell me a specific place to park my cart which was no more than 20 feet away is beyond me. I haven't been there 10 minutes, just paid $100 to pay and I've got two guys bossing me around for no reason whatsoever....AND if you expect people to come to your course, pay your COVID gouging $94 to play and expect them to come back, make sure those of us playing on the weekends for that kind of money walk onto a course in $100 shape.

H.V.

Surprised at the overall condition of this course. Patchy grass in fairways and some funky grass taking over on numerous greens. Greens were long (could be due to heat) and rolled slow.

It's all playable, but this course has looked better.

Tee boxes were really bad. Sand traps are with no sands. Greens were bumpy & super slow. Fairways grasses were long & need to be cut.
