Perdido Bay Golf Club
About
Perdido Bay Golf Club has hosted several notable players including Jack Nicklaus, Tom Kite, and Curtis Strange. It also formerly served as the site to the Pensacola Open for a decade-long stretch and while it may not be host anymore it still preserves its integrity as a challenging, championship course. The golf course is long and narrow, rewarding both distance and accuracy. Although it is mostly flat there is some strategic mounding that causes tricky lies throughout. Perdido Bay Golf Club's fairways are flanked by multiple cuts of rough and the greens are large and undulating. Many of the greens, as well as the tees, are also elevated. In addition to the golf course, there are also extensive practice facilities that include a large driving range, putting green, chipping green, and greenside and fairway bunkers.

Good course
Challenging is a good word. Greens were fairly hard, we never found marks no matter how high the approach shot was. Also we’re slow due to needing to be cut. Over all the course was in good shape, somewhat dry. My only issue was being forced to share a cart. They were not busy, and I don’t recall having this issue anywhere in the panhandle.
Excellent
Had a great time playing. Course staff was friendly and helpful. Marshal even came and let us jump on a little early since there was a gap and a foursome coming up. Greens were in great shape.
Course in tough shape due to weather
Course is in tougher than average shape due to the tough weather recently, lack of rain and excessive heat. With that the fairways were patchy and the greens were overgrown to prevent damage making them very very slow. All of this is understandable but would be nice to see some level of understanding or discount associated with the "product" being less than optimal
Terrible Customer Service
Booked a tee time for 2 players at 7:30 AM (the first tee time of the day). The other 2 tee times at 7:30 were still available for purchase on GolfNow. We drove 50 minutes to the course. Upon checking in, we were told that twosomes are not allowed to on the course until after 10:00. They could hopefully get us out with a group at 8:30 but no guarantees until 10. They continuously blamed GolfNow for the mishap but did not let us play at the tee time that we had booked. We decided to leave because we wanted to play/finish early and still have the rest of our day. They handled this situation incredibly unprofessionally.
Nice course. Bring extra balls
I liked the overall layout of the course. The par 3 holes were great. If you’re not great with your driver or irons, bring extra balls. There is water on pretty much every hole. Wish I could have taken my cart to my truck to get my bag.
Turtle Pace Golf
The pace of play was ridiculously slow. We waited a minimum of 10 minutes on the tee box, waited to hit the second shot. We asked the Marshall to speak to the groups holding everyone up and were told they spoke to them. We don't believe he did. There were two Marshall's: both sat on #1 tee instead of moving along the the slow golfers. It was a hot day. We only saw the beverage cart girl on #1 tee and then on #17. When we made the turn, she sat with the Marshall's on #1 talking with them. We won't go back to this course because we feel we were lied to by the Marshall and the guy working in the pro shop. We did get an apology but we needed action!
Good day
Had golf now reservations, they couldn’t find it but honored my confirmation. Got us out on time. FYI, if you use golf now, expect to be paired up to make 4some. Not a negative for m, but she me folks are picky
