Perdido Bay Golf Club
About
Perdido Bay Golf Club has hosted several notable players including Jack Nicklaus, Tom Kite, and Curtis Strange. It also formerly served as the site to the Pensacola Open for a decade-long stretch and while it may not be host anymore it still preserves its integrity as a challenging, championship course. The golf course is long and narrow, rewarding both distance and accuracy. Although it is mostly flat there is some strategic mounding that causes tricky lies throughout. Perdido Bay Golf Club's fairways are flanked by multiple cuts of rough and the greens are large and undulating. Many of the greens, as well as the tees, are also elevated. In addition to the golf course, there are also extensive practice facilities that include a large driving range, putting green, chipping green, and greenside and fairway bunkers.

Nice Golf Course
PBGC has recovered nicely from Hurricane Sally and is in great shape. They are very “anti-walking” here, which is a shame for a nice, flat, Florida golf course. Lots of good exercise if you walk, and it’s not hard to keep up with the carts when it’s crowded. There was a five some in front of us. 4+ hours to play on a weekday. Teed off at 2:30 and played the last hole in near darkness. Facilities aren’t fancy but golf course is always in good shape.
One of my favorites
This course is very well maintained and is fun for golfers of all skill levels! The practice facilities are always in good condition as well if you need to touch up any part of your game.
Happy Golfer
Good day of golf while visiting Orang Beach, AL.
Course was challenging but playable. Greens were in pretty good shape. Fun round!
Nice course challenging
Pro shop not very enjoyable very cut and dry
Starter was polite and helpful
Pro not available to busy ?
Cart area zero help was shown
Bar area very nice and helpful
As expected
No surprises today, lots of slow play, beverage cart was out. Needs mowing in several places need to fill in bare spots. To good of layout to allow this course to be in this poor condition. They could do better.
Great layout
Arrived early to hit range balls paid for them then find out range is closed, they did give me money back. But range was closed, I needed to warm up just a little. No one mentioned the greens had been verti-cut. Most likely would have not played today had we known. Starter was petty much useless did not tell us a thing like had to use GPS or anything about course. One of us had been there years ago. Fairways were nice. Was told after we arrived they were not sure if beverage cart would be out and we never saw one. It was 102 heat index today would have been great to had a cold drink. Poor value for service, not cheap course expected better.
Maybe Best condition around
I've played a dozen or more courses in Western Florida and Eastern Alabama. This course might be in the best condition. Fairways and greens are great. Tee boxes okay. The rought is deep and tough. Deep rough around the green and bunkers makes it hard to find your ball, thus slowing the round down. Also the in cart GPS is very strict telling you where not to drive. You can't get much more than 10 yards near a green and the cart paths are not that close to the greens so you will do a lot of walking which again can make for a slow round. If you're lucky enough to play when there aren't many players the pace should be fine but again, this course might be worth the slow play.
Challenging layout
We enjoyed the challenge of this course difficult but very enjoyable challenge!
Solid
Never played here and was pleasantly surprised. Got a hot deal for $35. Course was in good shape. Fairways were good and the rough wasn’t patchy. The greens were true but not very fast. I would say running a 7. They were true though. Lots of water on the course. Staff was masked and friendly. Beverage cart was around every few holes. For $35 was an amazing deal!
Ehh
Course layout is ok but tee boxes pretty rough and several really wet spots in fairway. Staff not very helpful on our visit either. Not worth $60
Nice golf course
This is my 2nd day / 2nd time playing this gold course and I am satisfied and enjoyed playing this golf course. It's not boring golf course, and the greens and fairways are well maintained.
I would play this golf course 3 to 4 times a week if I live nearby, but it's about 40 minutes drive from my house.
The only thing I complain about right now is the weather has been too hot, otherwise it is a nice golf course and the staff were all friendly. Highly recommended....
Great Time
The course was in great shape we had a great time!
Bait & Switch on fees
Watch out...bait and switch on their rates! Website shows a $49 rate beginning at 12:00, we booked 12:10 on the phone, show up and we are told it is $60, until 2:00! Told the pro shop person that is not what is on the website, he said "I know", but that rate starts at 2:00! So we paid and asked for the included range balls...don't have any he said, should be on the range...but NOT! Went back to the pro shop and asked again, don't have any he reported, so go back to the range and note people coming out of the pro shop with a bag of range balls! Went to the bathroom, and noted one commode plugged up with "a deposit"...still there after our 4 hour round! Also, a great GPS system, but was not updated for the current pin positions. Course is a great layout, great condition, but pro shop personnel could be much more courteous and have the ability to honor rates they know are on their website! Not going back withiut getting a rate and name when making a t time!
My Review of Perdido Bay Golf Club
Looked good. Very green. Good layout with much water and many sand traps. One bunker on the course was firm. Soft ground near some greens after much rain recently. 2 balls were embedded by 2 greens. Greens were slow. Pace of play was slow. Very crowded on the course. Not very fun. People on the course were nice and friendly. Good, large practice putting green. An area where I could practice chipping, pitching, and sand shots was near the practice putting green. Long driving range, and I was able to hit balls on the range late after my round. Range balls cost extra. Good wildlife. Geese, deer, turtles.
