Cimarron Golf Club - Pebble Par-3 Course

In great shape, pleasantly free of ball marks for a par 3 course. Probably because the wind was so strong few people hit the greens from the tee box.

Mystery as to procedure for next cart available..Tee time order did not seem to mattter.

Fun course to polish up the short game. Course, greens in particular, are in excellent condition. Mid-day Saturday, to be expected, was crowded and unfortunately was painfully slow. If pace of play was better it would be a great course to play a quick 2 1/2 hour round. The reality was it took four hours. That being said the weather was beautiful and overall I would definitely play it again just at a different time.

Gave this course a second chance pretty well, same review again with lengthy delay for a cart . I know they are busy squeezing everybody on with around eight minutes between group to group.because of high season However, they need to correct something here if they want to get this better for other golfers, I can see it being tough on the staff for sure. Frustration for all Maybe the owners need to take A longer look on getting this rectified, so everybody can enjoy this course better because it is a nice course , Will continue playing on other courses that are more organized

Thus course is just fun! And beautiful. Well maintained.

First the good- This course is in excellent shape, consistent greens fast true and very firm (have no idea how others rated the course in poor shape recently????) Beautiful view of mountains, very few traps or water but you have to hit over a sandy dry river bed on several holes. Rolling lush green fairways , elevated greens and some with lots of slope make this course a challenging executive course. Loved to play this course.

Now the bad - This course is overbooked regularly (staff told me they schedule tee times 8 minutes apart and actual play is 12 min/hole. During busy season its clear the staff have to deal with perturbed golfers by their own comments and regular players we talked to. Also they don't have enough carts to handle the load. We arrive 35 minutes before our tee time, had to wait in a semi circle with +40 other golfers waiting for carts. The attendants don't call out which tee times or names of groups are up for a cart when they come back in. You have to keep going back to the staff to make sure you haven't lost your place in line ( I feel sorry for what the employees have to deal with this for hours it seems) You really don't feel comfortable that you are going to get the cart when you should (I don't know how the staff can keep track of which group is up for the next cart and so on?). You can't drive your cart to your car but must bring your golf bag to the golf cart stable then stand and wait because you have to keep an eye on your clubs for security reasons. No chairs to sit on, we stood for 55 minutes until we got our cart 20 minutes after scheduled tee time. Players on both courses were dealing with the same issue and said this has been an issue for days starting late morning to early afternoon. Also parking was full and had to park down the street over 200 yards from the cart stable.

Management really needs to fix this. Why they don't use a beeper system like many restaurants use to alert patrons their cart is ready (or in five/ten minutes)? You could keep your clubs locked in your car or set them on the terrace and have a drink or buy a snack before you get your cart. It would increase sales and make the frustration, standing and waiting go away. Better yet, schedule tee times 12 minutes apart to reduce the congestion. The pace of play was slow but people in front of us (we could observe 4 holes ahead at times) seemed to be playing as fast as possible. A marshal was present and did a good job making sure people weren't slow. To be honest we loved looking at the scenery here and didn't mind the waits (+ 5 minutes per tee box) but the frustration in the beginning regarding carts and standing nearly an hour to get a cart keeps this review at 3 stars. If they make an effort and fix this ongoing problem this is clearly would be a 5 star value.
