Riverwalk Golf Club
About
A collaborative effort by Ted Robinson Sr. and his son has resulted in a most scenic championship layout. The championship 18 meanders through mature eucalyptus trees, tall palms, and majestic oaks. Sparkling ponds contrast with the dozens of white sand bunkers and the emerald green, Bermuda grass fairways.

9th Hole Mission Photo submitted by canyonman59 on 12/06/2012
Lots of repairs in progess
Almost every hole had some ground under repair, or ground that will soon need to be under repair. Not a problem if you are okay with just picking up your ball and placing it on better grass, but there were a LOT of bare spots. The greens were in excellent shape, though. August 2026.
Solid morning round, location alone keeps me coming back.
Played yesterday as one of the first groups out and had a really enjoyable round. Staff was accommodating and polite from the jump. Range balls were in decent shape with minimal cuts, which is always appreciated before a round.
Pace of play was excellent, finished in 3 hours and 45 minutes, which is about as clean as it gets. Fairways are noticeably in rough shape right now but you can tell the course is actively working on it. Repair areas are marked with spray paint and the effort shows. Greens were in excellent shape, a little on the hairier side but completely expected as one of the first groups of the day, and divots were minimal. No complaints there.
The location is honestly the biggest draw and why I keep coming back. It's incredibly central and convenient no matter where you're coming from in the area. When the fairways are back to full health this place is tough to beat.
Over priced
The amount they charge for a course in this bad of shape is hard to believe
Fairways and tees in poor condition. Greens are good.
Many large bare and brown areas on fairways
Great Day, Slow Pace
Staff was very nice, the course is in below average condition on the fairways, greens were decent., pace of play was slow--5 hour round
Terrible experience
Whole experience here was terrible, I booked a 5am tee time as a single and when I got here they told me they moved my single to 510 so a foursome could tee off at 5am….while I waited behind them all day. I even told front desk guy that I play quick and he said too bad it was the courses decision and they should’ve notified me which they didn’t. The course is also in really bad shape. Hopefully it looks better than it does right now at some points in the year this place is bad. If you’re broke this is the place, if not go anywhere else. Also there are lot of walkers here who don’t want to pay extra cart fee the pace is bad from the start.
Nice greens rough fairways
I like the course great layout tons of potential greens are nice but if you are pay $70 a round plus the fairways should be dead especially on a signature hole amazing location but wind will be a factor as a natural tunnel through the valley
Fun coarse
Was fun to play but some parts of the fairways were lacking grass and rough from punching from a while ago.
Riverwalk is overpriced
Riverwalk is one of the most average courses I’ve played in San Diego. The fact they charge an average of over $100 per round is mind boggling. Their “hot deal” prices should be $40 not $75. The food is good, staff is friendly and they make awesome transfusions. But again the course itself has 1 hole that is overtly cool. Other than that, the fairways are dying/have dead spots.
Overpriced
Greens were in great shape
Fairways hard and have bare spots still
Front desk guys and starter are a dud. I’m a single and they sent a group of 3 in front of me and had a group of 3 behind me…..? Great for pace of play….
Overall just overpriced and they could be cooler. Location gets the $
Hire a new superintendent
Wow. The golf course is a mess. Greens are pretty decent, but the conditions of the rest of the course is not good, at all. The only reason why I played this incredibly overpriced golf course is that I found a hot deal for $55. The other two people we played with paid close to $130, so they definitely got ripped off. This conditions of this course do not warrant anything over $100 let alone what they are charging these days. What a rip off. Will never play this course for over $60 because that’s about what it is worth. A lot of courses in San Diego are out of their minds with what they are charging these days and this is one of them!
