Bear Creek Golf Club - West Course
About
Conveniently located adjacent to the DFW Airport, Bear Creek Golf Club serves up two Ted Robinson-designed, 18-hole masterpieces that are known for their stunning topography and outstanding greens. And with both golf courses playing around 6,700 yards from the tips, golfers can hit long irons and fairway woods off the tee to keep it in the fairway, which is mandatory for a good round on these tight courses. Bear Creek's West Course is demanding early, and is significantly more difficult on the front side. However, the back side opens up and allows some room for error, making this the track of choice for the high handicapper. Nos. 6 and 7 stand out on the demanding front. No. 6 requires a blind tee shot and an approach over water, and no. 7 might be the most difficult on the golf course: a 380-yard par 4 that plays into the wind and also involves water. The back side has the signature hole, the scenic 180-yard 17th, which plays along a lake.

Can get on easily most days
I appreciate Bear Creek because they have 2 courses and they move well so they can accommodate many golfers. The West course is IMO much better than the East and unfortunately that is the track I played. The East isn’t bad but just not as good..
Suprise Suprise Suprise
Played the Bear Creek East course with a foursome.
This was my first time playing the course and my first time playing a Hot mid day round in at least two years! The round took four hours to complete.
The track was in good condition for August. The holes on the front were manageable for me and the back nine seem more challenging. The fairways were great. Greens were good shape. They roll true and fast on some of the holes. Two of the players knew the course, so they teed off first every time. Some of the hole locations were hidden by trees, elevation changes, and sharp dog legs'. Water hazards were hidden from a distance. So long hitters beware. The bunkers were terrible, and errand golf balls flying everywhere made the game different. I managed to survive the heat and play through. Although my score card took on more pencil than normal. The Putts came easier on the back nine for me than the front. Elevation and blind spots will hurt you if your to aggressive at this course. Just play it like a single player. At least it help me play a lot better after the first few holes. I will play this course again in the future; it is a fun course and not as difficult as some may think. I would advise players to play this course safe. Going for it here may cost your score card. At least part of my group paid the cost. I paid some myself.
Course was FULL!
Course is in good shape. Way to many people on the course. 5 hours to play 18
Great Course
Great course, great time, outdoor grill and bar to combat the COVID situation. Only problem was getting off 30 mins later. They were running behind bad.
Punched greens and very slow play
Sitting on the 6th tee with 3 other groups, 1.5 hours into round. No marshal, pace is horrible. Greens recently punched and no top dressing. Stay away for 2-3 weeks.
Excellent Course Conditions
Course is in great shape, especially for late July. Great job to the grounds crew!
Good Course
The course is in good shape with exception of sand traps. Downside there are no marshals so there is no enforcement there was a group of six playing we had to go around.
Good course but...
Enjoyed my time mostly. But...cart ran out of gas on 4. Called and they brought me a new one rather quickly. GPS cart was awesome but stopped working at 11 :/ Course was in good shape. Very straight. Hazard placement makes it harder than it should be.
