Just too slow
The course is great and the people are great. The problem is I think the design makes it play too slow. There were 12 golfers waiting on the third hole to hit. It is a par 3 over the water shot. I watched 7 of 8 golfers put it into the water and there was very little wind. There are several other areas on the course that the design causes a natural delay. I don't think there is anything the staff can do to move things much quicker.
Worth the Drive
I drive 40 to 45 minutes from plantation and it’s always worth the drive. Great staff great course great people. One of these days I need an earlier teatime and then hitting the bar afterwards.
Very good course all around.
Golf course was in very good shape. Greens were rolling very well and fast. Due to starting in the afternoon greens were showing signs of wear from golfers not repairing ball marks or shoe scuffs. Unfortunately, that happens. The biggest issue was a 4 hour 45 minute round; we had to wait on every hole. Play may have been faster if slow golfers were asked to speed up the pace of play by a ranger, but I do not think that happened.
with recent changes it turned into kids play ground 10 year old was driving golf cart jeopardizing other players .course is over booked delays in the game which never happened before but people are very friendly well managed
Jammed packed
So my Son is in college at PBA. I drove down from Orlando to play a round of golf with him for the day! The New driving range and restaurant is amazing. Staff Super Friendly. Only problem was I paid for 18 holes and got so frustrated because it took 2 1/2 hours to play 8 holes and 2 hours and 50 minutes to finally play 9 holes which is insane. They packed tee times without a ranger moving people along. As we were waiting for our tee time other golfers were waiting for carts to charge and the other golfers tee times were literally 5-7 minutes apart. Doesn’t matter how nice the course is or how amazing the staff is and if they aren’t maintaining the flow of tee times and rangers moving people along it becomes so congested at each tee box that you can’t get into any kind of rhythm waiting so long . Don't think we will be back unfortunately.
1 Bad Employee Can Ruin The Bunch....
First time playing this course and the overall impression was a good one. This course has TONS of potential, and when I mean TONS, it is untapped. The clubhouse appears to be brand new and every person I encountered, from the check-in crew, to the drink staff, to the bag drop personnel was very professional and eager to help. I came straight from the airport and the young man who was working that morning even helped walk my bags and golf carrier to the storage area and ensured it was in a safe space, I cannot say enough how premium his customer service was and he is a true asset to their team. The course itself is well maintained, has a great layout, and is eager and willing to allow for tons of birdies if you can keep the ball in play off of the tee. The amount of water on this course is a nice touch and it makes you work the ball in a variety of different directions. The fairways are firm, but fair, and the greens roll at a predictable pace and are easy to read (even for florida greens). Word of advice for anyone playing here, be below the hole, it will save you tons of left to right downhill putts that are very easily 3 putted if speed control is off just one bit.
Here's the reason its a 4 star and not a 5. I had a 10:54 tee time and did not approach the first tee box until roughly 11:10. I was paired with 3 other people I did not know (1.2 handicap but no complaints there, I'm used to this as I frequently play as a single in areas like this), but these people appeared to be 15 handicappers at best and one of the individuals was probably beginner level on a good day. We teed off 16 minutes behind pace, not a big deal, but the 16 minute delay was caused by overbooking and by allowing the senior league to jump in front of people under the guise that they would be quick and only playing 3 holes, which was correct. However, our four some was sandwiched between a 5 some of younger men and another 4 some of younger men. We proceeded to play the next 2 holes waiting to hit our approach shots or layups because of the hold up in front of us. We continue to wait on additional holes and then all of a sudden the group in front of us starts to speed up and immediately we are approached by the ranger, not once, but twice, who ordered us to speed up play under threat of having to skip holes. I explained that the course was backed up because of the senior league and just now opened up because they finished their "3 holes". I also explained to him the hypocrisy of asking us to speed up play when we were pushed back from our original tee times because of their overbooking and negligence from a management perspective. We were left alone after this conversation and proceed to follow his orders and speed up play.
We get to the backside after playing the front in a little less than 3 hours (remember we were waiting to hit approach shots on half of our holes on the front 9, ridiculous I know) and proceed to have to wait on EVERY SINGLE SHOT on the back 9. So much for the reasoning behind speeding up play. Our back nine took over 3.5 hours because of the log jam they created by overbooking and a lack of operational oversight.
However, this was an overall enjoyable experience for my first time at the golf course and it would not deter me from playing the course again. However, the ranger that was working the front 9 on 3/22 needs to be addressed or that course will be hard pressed to become a destination spot for avid golfing tourists and will have to rely on their top golf atmosphere to drive business.
Average golf course
Did a lot of investing in driving range and club house. Need to spend money on carts and golf course. Too expensive for what you get. Staff friendly but cart didn’t have score card, had to ask for water bucket for wet towel. No GPS.
Conditions and LOUD music
The conditions of the course are fair. Obviously, they are doing some tee box work. Greens were ok. The loud music was very annoying. It's just not necessary to play music that loud and it wasn't relaxing music. When I go golfing I want to relax and enjoy the quiet outdoors. We all can play our own music, as loud as we want, in our own cars. Thankfully, they turned down the volume when we finished playing, around 5. I had a soup and dolphin sandwich. The lobster bisque was excellent. Probably the best I ever had. The fish sandwich was good. The staff were very good.
It’s cold outside baby!
March crazy weather hit us good during this round but the staff made everything fun! Rum shots / great music and awesome friends! That’s all you need to keep the golfing spirits happy!! Course in very good condition and pace of play was spot on 4 hours! The Nash rules!!
Nice course but SLOW PLAY
The rangers moved people who complained about the slow play to other holes. Waiting on every tee box for 10 minutes or more.
I only played 12 holes due to the time.
Great course
The course is in good condition except for the bunkers. They need some sand. The greens
were rolling true and the fairways were very good.
Hit or miss?
Course conditions
bland, dry patch’s,
Greens not worth $110
Disappointed mostly to lack of rain, that best be excuse for such overall bad conditions.
