Good conditions even when wet
Much improved from years ago when it was much muddier. Greens were a little water logged from all the rain but very decent overall.
Too expensive to play in those muddy conditions
They need to lower the price when it’s not very nice on the course. 120$ to play in the mud the whole time isn’t very fun.
Course needs seriously tidy up after the rain fall!!!
It was so muddy and no cart on the fairways as well. Without any compensation. The total condition was horrible!
Maush Pit
It is my fault that I did not remember the Crystal Springs is virtually unplayable until the rain stops in May. They have such drainage issues that the fairway just become this soupy mess where the biggest question is does your ball bounce when it lands.
HORRIBLE CONDITIONS!!
I’ve played this course since the 90s. I hadn’t been back in a while. This is the worst condition I’ve ever seen this golf course in. It’s way overpriced for what they’re offering. It’s unfortunate because it’s such a beautiful setting. I don’t recommend this place at all. This is the worst condition golf course I’ve seen in years. Wet spots everywhere, dried out patches, sand on greens, making a lot of the course unplayable. Ball washers are filthy or nonexistent. It’s like they don’t care about the course. I normally don’t leave reviews like this, but this was such a bad experience.
Would not recommend
I live 10 min away from this course. I played here in Jan - unplayable - with rain it turns into a mud pit. Then again yesterday in summer. They ran out of carts, fairways are patchy with lots of bare spots, traps are OK, greens are slow, and pace of play - 5+ hours with no marshal in sight. Paid $115 w/ cart. What a deal!? Buy a Links Card at Baylands for $100/yr and pay less than what I paid here with much better conditions and pace of play is typically under 4 1/2 hours. It's twice the distance from my house - sad.
Big Improvements
Since new owners/management have taken over in the last four??? years golfing at CS has improved. They added new golf carts, renovated the sand traps and updated the facilities. Drink cart passes by four times a round. Proper staffing levels are met achieving friendliness and a stress free environment.
Major Improvement
Hadn’t played here in 2 years. The course was in pretty bad shape and was not worth the money. My son recently played a few times and said it was in good shape and he was right. Most tee boxes were level and well kept. Fairways are green and well manicured. Bunkers are pretty fluffy and consistent and greens were improved as well. Nice job bringing this course back from the dead.
Very nice course!
We like to play there, not easy to get good scores but it’s been always fun to play. Good condition and nice scenery!
