West at Rancho Canada Golf Club

Fairways were well cared for. Greens were soft and putting true. Picturesque surroundings. Carmel river meandering through the course, and flowing swiftly. All in all a great round.

Excellent greens. Course is in good shape. Ball never plugged although it rained heavily prior.

Besides the weather being chilly, which is typical of Carmel in March, the course was great to play, had some required shot making, and a couple difficult putts. My only complaint was the greens needed to be rolled a little better. I thought the were a little bumpy for not very much traffic. Maybe it was just a bad day for the greens. Bottom line: for $42 twilight, much worth the cash.

Was a great day of golf in December! Sunny all day with great views of the Carmel Valley river meandering through the course.....

the course is lots of fun and offers the difficulties that amateurs enjoy. the tee boxes on the other hand is terrible.

Played this course on 12/8/12 after a week of wet weather. The course was still in good condition outside of the bunkers. Greens are relatively flat and fairways are wide. Good for new golfers or someone wanting to shoot a lower score than they normally do. Plan on playing this course in the future.

$19 for 18 with a cart is a bargain. Basically you pay for the cart and the golf is free. There has been a lot of rain in the area so it was cart path only. If you are the kind of golfer who can't stray more than 20 feet from the cart you may want to call the course prior to boooking to check any restrictions. With all of the rain though the river is flowing and the multiple river crossings are great to see the river really flowing

Too many leaves. I can not find my ball on the fairway.That ruins my fun. Without the leaves I would give them 3.5 stars.

Staff always friendly, but I play there all the time. The tee boxes are the worst I have ever seen them. Lumpy and divot filled. I would of fixed as many as I could, but our cart which was equipped with fertilizer bottles, were both empty. No excuse for that. The price is too much, at 2:30 it was still $32. Now being that there was a group of 5 in front of us, we were unable to reach the 16th hole before darkness and we were unable to finish.

Not a great course; not a bad course. At a Golfnow rate of $19, it has to be the best deal in the area. Certainly, Pebble Beach is not 30 times as good.
The tees are not very good; the greens are okay. The fairways are above average. The course isn't all that long except for 15 and 16 and a couple of the par 3s. The trees really come into play, sometimes even when you are in the fairway. The course is very flat, but still manages to be interesting.
I won't make a special trip to play there again, but will certainly keep it in mind if I am in the vicinity.

Lots of tee shots between or over trees. Nicely kept greens, altho they were very soft after recent rain.

Played the West course at Rancho Canada for the second time through Golf Now and had a great time. Great deal, just make sure you are 100% sure you are going to play and check the weather when you use Golf Now. No refunds.

The course is very challenging because of a lot of fallen leaves, tree roots, and tree shadows. We spent a lot of time searching for our ball because the ball is hard to pick out among the leaves, roots, and shadows - even when the ball is in the middle of the fairway. I will say that the fairways and greens were in very good shape. Maybe this is a course best played outside the fall season.

the tee boxes need attention they are in terrible shape please flatten and level. The greens could stand to be rolled.

Fairways average, greens good, needs work on water hazard #4, Leaves are a problem in fall, difficult to find the ball in the rough and sometimes in the fairway. Many of the sand traps could use more sand.

The day we played other players very friendly and patient did not feel we had to rush

Was greeted in a friendly manner, business handled expeditiously, very accomodating, help offered at every turn. A great time. Oh, and the course is beautiful, tough, and well maintained.
