With the current water problems on the Monterey peninsula, I suspect the greens are being watered from a deep well that has saltwater intrusion. The greens are grossly spotted and uneven. The rest of the course is fine. The weather was beautiful.

Course is fun too play some challenging holes but overall good well balanced course

The place is very comfortable large old trees, meandering river, great inland views.

Ken, the starter on the east course is what golf is all about, cordial accommodating, personable he puts a great start to a cozy layout.

The two staff members were very professional.

Overall course was well laid out. Some of the edges of the course could use a little tending to.

While the front nine are average the back nine are great.

Course was in great shape and the greens were excellent.
There was some water standing on some fairways and was not a serious problem. Narrow fairways made for a interesting game.

I enjoyed this course greatly because of the challenging layout, good course condition, and uncrowdedness.

A lot of trees on the course make it challenging. Fairways are in fairly good condition...T- boxes and greens could use a little more maintenance attention.

I have not played this course in over 37 years and it seemed to have gone down hill since then. The greens needed more work as the grass was different colors and that makes reading the green difficult. The were a lot of "white" flowers in the rough and even on the fairway which made finding a golf difficult at times. Overall it appears that the maintenance has been reduced to a point that what was a really great course is now just OK. The GolfNow fees make it a good deal; I would not pay their regular rates to play this course.

I am now a senior citizen and have medical constraints that I did not the last time I played this course.

Played the west course, supposedly the more challenging. Pro shop attendant was rude and very "used car salesman" demeanor, not very friendly and welcoming at all (attendant with the shaved head). Booked a mid-morning tee time as a single. Had a conflict at that time so I went out to the course at first light (6:50am) to see if I can get out earlier. Pro shop attendant insisted I pay for another tee time at the regular price in order to go out early or try to find another time on golfnow.com. I can understand not letting me tee off earlier if they were booked back to back at 6:50am until my scheduled tee time of 11am BUT they were NOT booked and backed up. How do I know? I waited outside for 15-20 minutes and saw no one pull into the parking lot and tee off. That's when I decided to go ahead and make another tee time ONLINE.
I ended paying for a separate and earlier 7:30am tee time w/Golfnow in order to play early and eating my 11am tee time. When I finished my round as a single in 2 hours, I found someone to take my 11am tee time but gestapo attendant said he wouldn't let that person take my place! Really?

As for the course, it was well maintained but hardly worth the normal green fees of $89 + dollars. Thank goodness for golfnow.com hot deals. The west course is narrow and greens are straight forward with not a lot of breaks. One hole was a par 4 - 289 yrds that was an easy birdie.
Golf is also a mental game. When you let the pro shop attendant get into your head with his rudeness, this can affect the rest of your day. I would've given more stars if they had better customer service.
They got my money, which is fine, it's only money. But I will never play there again. There are other courses that are cheaper and maintained just as well. Don't pay more than $32 for this course and be sure you use Golfnow hot deals.

Course was in very nice condition, fun course to play. Only downside was my friend lost his cell phone out there. The guy that found it, tried to turn it in, but the staff wouldn't take it to put in lost and found saying they didnt want to be responsible for it.

Besides the fact that there are 2 full - 18 hole courses to play, the course location in Monterey county makes it convenient to a variety of alternative things to do! Golf Now provides tee times at some RIDICULOUSLY LOW RATES for this course, but I'm not complaining! It was worth the drive from San Jose, and I'll do it again in the near future!

Played west side which was fun and challenging. Not crowded and people could take their time on the course without feeling rushed.

We booked a special rate on GolfNow. The weather was beautfiul. The course is in fine shape. We will return again.

Tee were putt in good places were you had to think about a landing zone to set up for your second shot to green. Green were soft and fast.

This is an enjoyable course for any golfer. It has water, trees ,sand and elevation. Great views. Well maintained and the staff is very friendly. Play this course whenever I am in the area. You can't go wrong.

The fairways are in good shape, and so are the relatively flat greens, but the sand traps are a rock pile. Also, the speed on the greens varies. Nevertheless, it is a fun course to play.
