Woodbridge Golf Club
About
Woodbridge’s layout doglegs through some interesting terrain, with heavy woodlands, natural wetlands, streams, and meadows making the course scenic and fun. There are 15 doglegs in all, which makes for a tough, long 7,088 yards if you’re playing from the tips.
Woodbridge’s best feature is perfectly conditioned greens that vary in size and force you to think because of the heavy undulations.
One of the most challenging holes on the front nine is No. 5, a 429-yard par 4 that plays uphill through a tight chute of trees. The spectacular green is guarded by a waterfall on the left, bunkers to the right and rear, and a pond in the front.
On the back, No. 16 is one of the nastiest, playing over water that wraps around the green. Overhanging trees get in the way off the tee, forcing you to work the ball if the pin is tucked right or left. Rather than getting fancy, the best play here is to get it on the green and work for the two-putt par.
Getting there : From Dallas, take Hwy. 75 (Central Expressway) north to Hwy. 190 (George Bush Turnpike). Drive east to Hwy. 78, then north for 4 miles. The entrance to the subdivision is on the right, and there are signs to the course inside.

Blowing the Dust Off
This was my first round of 2017 after laying off for a couple months. I have played Woodbridge several times and always enjoy the course. There are some renovations taking place on the course at this time. Several bunkers are being redone so that may be a mild inconvenience to some. The greens rolled well and were quite fast. On the upside, due to the winter conditions, I picked up some extra yards with the roll out on my drives. I started as a single but joined up with a threesome midway through the front nine. Even though we spent some time looking for wayward shots, we still managed to finish in a little under four hours. The course also has a very good practice area that includes the range, putting green and another green for short game and bunker practice. The course conditions were good given the time of year. Once the renovations are done and we get into the prime season, I'm sure it will be excellent. Woodbridge is always worth playing.
Great layout
One of the DFW Hidden Gems of Golf... The Layout us Fabulous, and they're currently making more course improvements for a greater challenge... recommend playing this course!!!
Great Course
Very enjoyable afternoon. Staff is very friendly; fantastic practice facilities and greens are huge, undulating, and well maintained. Will definitely play this course again. The only complaint is the tee boxes could be in better conditions.
Mixed Reactions - Winter Conditions
Woodbridge is not for beginners. Some tight fairways; creeks and ponds come into play on ten holes and cause forced carries; few run-up opportunities. Layout challenges low to mid handicappers. Tee boxes thin and hard; fairways good for this time of year; greens dormant, but excellent for this time of year. Traps crusty, and many under repair. Areas under and near trees are rough (eroded) with many bare areas. Two short par fours (8 & 17) are fun.
Course had experienced heavy rain 3 days before. But the course and many greens looked like they'd been under water. Layout has too many weird holes. Food is excellent
Hole Locations
Whoever decided the hole locations must had something in mind... All the holes were in the middle of a slope and with fast greens. Every hole was a challenge which made you concentrate and think twice before you putt. It was really fun and kept me alert to get the difficult par.... Will go play again soon.
Put this on you playlist
The course is in great shape. I definitely recommend it. The greens are in great shape. The only negative is that the Par 3 tee boxes were moved up closer than I would have liked. But this gave me an opportunity to use my 54 and 60 degree wedges.
Great course
Great track and in great shape.
After the rainfall not too bad
We have had a couple of days of good rainfall in the area so I expected tough playing conditions but was pleasantly surprised to find the course was draining well. Not a lot of golfers out afternoon that day which helped pace of play. Overall enjoyed my round and was able to be home for an enjoyable evening.
Shot makers course
Fun and tough course. I hit driver off most tees which you do not have to. Lost a lot of balls and didn't have to but not the courses fault. Short par 4s make you question which club to hit. Love this course will play again wish it was closer to my house.
Great Layout
The layout gives you a feeling of being out by yourself. Many of the fairways and greens are hidden by the trees. Fairways in excellent condition but the greens show a bit of wear from the many rounds of golf - still good condition though considering the dry weather conditions this past summer.
Great shape
We played sunday afternoon and the only slowdown were 2 golfers who played from the tips and had to hit multiple tee shots to get one in play.
The course is in great shape and the layout had a substantial feel to it.
Price was great and I'll definitely be back!
Nice time, watch out for #16!
Watch out for #16! A lot of the greens had more movement than I expected, but were in good shape.
Great course great time
Played here on Wednesday course was in great shape and the staff was great! Played in 4 hours with a foursome which is excellent. Only thing about the course that needs improvement are the bunkers besides that the course is fun to play.
Lots of Water
Very nice course with interesting layout and lots of water. GPS is accurate and helpful
September rains couldn't come soon enough
The course was pretty dry as most are but all fairways and greens are in ok shape. The tee boxes are like bricks so hopefully the rain helps. This course has one of the best layouts in the area and you really need to bring your best game. Played my best round here for an 86 and could have been better with a few shots here and there.
Pace of play was worst I've seen here. A group a few ahead of us slowed everyone down and didn't see a Marshall all day which is unusual. Took us almost 5 hours to finish.
Hi skeedawg40,
Thank you for your four star review! We really appreciate your feedback and are happy to know you enjoy our course layout. We would like to congratulate you on your score of 86! However, we do apologize for the slow pace of play and will work to improve the flow of play. We hope to see you back on the course soon!
