Woodbridge Golf Club
About
Woodbridge’s layout doglegs through some interesting terrain, with heavy woodlands, natural wetlands, streams, and meadows making the course scenic and fun. There are 15 doglegs in all, which makes for a tough, long 7,088 yards if you’re playing from the tips.
Woodbridge’s best feature is perfectly conditioned greens that vary in size and force you to think because of the heavy undulations.
One of the most challenging holes on the front nine is No. 5, a 429-yard par 4 that plays uphill through a tight chute of trees. The spectacular green is guarded by a waterfall on the left, bunkers to the right and rear, and a pond in the front.
On the back, No. 16 is one of the nastiest, playing over water that wraps around the green. Overhanging trees get in the way off the tee, forcing you to work the ball if the pin is tucked right or left. Rather than getting fancy, the best play here is to get it on the green and work for the two-putt par.
Getting there : From Dallas, take Hwy. 75 (Central Expressway) north to Hwy. 190 (George Bush Turnpike). Drive east to Hwy. 78, then north for 4 miles. The entrance to the subdivision is on the right, and there are signs to the course inside.

Nice course with some really bad greens.
Some of these greens were in very bad shape, such that when you putted, the ball spent as much time in the air as it did on the ground.
We had many lip-outs too, because the hole liner was only 1/16" below the ground, which essentially made the hole smaller. USGA requires them to be at least 1" below ground level.
That said, I really enjoy this course layout. The staff is friendly, and they did a great job of getting everybody off on time. We played in 4:15 in a four-some. My wife and I will usually play in 3:15, so it was slower than we'd like, but not slower than expected.
It has two drive-able par 4's, both of which require either a draw, or an incredibly good line with your tee shot.
Many of the traps were more like dirt pits, and yet some were well sanded and maintained. Not sure why though.
Great time!
Very friendly staff, well organized. Solid practice facility. About 4 greens were pretty rough and half dozen others had some bad spots as well. Layout is fun and we will be back!!
Don't go
Worst greens in DFW right now. Not even worth playing even at 20$. 4 handicap and I know what good greens look like.
Condition downhill
Its been a while since playing here, there were bald spots on most of the greens, fairways were just OK. Hopefully they will get the course growing again.
Under renovation
This course is under some renovation. Water is on almost every hole, and sometimes twice. If you hit the ball out of bounds, give up looking for it. Sand traps are brutal as the sand is hard and firm.
Not again for another 10 years
10 years ago I said I would never play Woodbridge in Wylie again. Its been 10 years, so I thought I'd give it a try. First of all my buddy and I were MADE to play with two 75 year old's, who hit the ball about 125 yards max. We spent most of the day helping them find their golf balls. The course has one blind shot after another. It's almost impossible to hit your target if you can't even see it. I guess they have just rolled the greens, here in March, because I never picked up after 5 putting, but I did numerous times Sunday. You can't bring anything to drink and you only see the beverage cart twice, so stay thirsty my friends. Lost 18 golf balls, 6 in a row. Good news is I found 25 of them. I was never so happy to finish a round of golf in 30 years.
Nice course.
I love the hole layout here. I've played here several times and will come back. Pace of play was very slow this time, wish it was a little faster.
Extremely slow pace of play
The course was in decent shape except the greens were not that good very little grass in places. Also the pace of play was horrible played the first nine in an hour and a half the second nine in three hours.
Great course close to home
I really enjoy this course, Challenging course, five minute drive from the house.
Pace of play was horrible
Marshall did not do his job.
Foursomes all over the course and did not adhere to golf etiquette.
Wgc
I had a really nice time at Woodbridge country club. Nice fairways and good greens.
Beautiful Day
Gorgeous day for golf. Only 1 green had any problems, fairways were better than any I have played recently and course is always fun to play. Course in really good shape for early March.
Great Course for the Money, Bad course management
This is the second time I played the course and I love the course itself. Challenging enough and the course is in good condition for it being winter. The greens were soft and very fast. The pace of play was probably the worse I have every experienced. The only time we didn't have to wait was on the first hole, every hole after that we had to wait for the group that was 2 ahead of us to hit and then for the group in front of us to hit. Round took almost 6 hours, but the beer was price ok so that made it a little better. Probably need to invest in a marshall on the weekends
Slow pace of play
Course is good for the time of the month which in Texas February, however the pace of play was terrible this course needs an ambassador that pushes play along. This is the only thing missing from this course to make it a perfect venue to play for the price.
Great golf course
Woodbridge is one of the best golf courses we have played in Dallas during our vacation. Great value for money, great greens considering it is winter, quite a few challenging holes, pretty long from the tipps so it was very enjoyable for our son who is an advanced golfer. The staff was very friendly and heplful so we felt welcomed there. Next time we are in Dallas, we will definitely come back!
Winter golf in Texas
Course is pretty tough. NO flat greens here. Not a lot of grass in the fairways but it is February. Fairways were like hitting off of concrete. Guess people just don't fix their ball marks here. Staff was great and price was reasonable so I would say it was definitely worth the trip.
Greens are difficult but fun!
Lots of people at this course! Lots of member activities going on and we were still able to play in a foursome in 4 hours and ten minutes. We were never held up by the group in front of us and we played on a Saturday! It was super windy and 80 degrees! There is lot's of bunker work going on at several of the holes which leads me to believe this course is going to be awesome when it greens up! The Tee Boxes were hard as a rock. Without rubber tee's we probably would not have been able to tee the ball up on the tee boxes. The greens as insanely difficult to read but made the course more fun to play! Would definitely play it again!!
