Woodbridge Golf Club

About
Woodbridge’s layout doglegs through some interesting terrain, with heavy woodlands, natural wetlands, streams, and meadows making the course scenic and fun. There are 15 doglegs in all, which makes for a tough, long 7,088 yards if you’re playing from the tips.
Woodbridge’s best feature is perfectly conditioned greens that vary in size and force you to think because of the heavy undulations.
One of the most challenging holes on the front nine is No. 5, a 429-yard par 4 that plays uphill through a tight chute of trees. The spectacular green is guarded by a waterfall on the left, bunkers to the right and rear, and a pond in the front.
On the back, No. 16 is one of the nastiest, playing over water that wraps around the green. Overhanging trees get in the way off the tee, forcing you to work the ball if the pin is tucked right or left. Rather than getting fancy, the best play here is to get it on the green and work for the two-putt par.
Getting there : From Dallas, take Hwy. 75 (Central Expressway) north to Hwy. 190 (George Bush Turnpike). Drive east to Hwy. 78, then north for 4 miles. The entrance to the subdivision is on the right, and there are signs to the course inside.

Not one Blade of grass in the first 2 greens?
First 2 holes the greens don’t have a blade of grass on them. Nobody tells you that in the pro shop or online. Still charge you $50 or something like that. The guy in the club house acts like golfers are the Bane of his existence. Mats only on the range. Just a really poor experience all around.
Wait until spring before you play here
Club is under renovation, but course and pace of play was not what you’d expect from here
Not Worth It
Very disappointed with the course. Super slow play, which has a lot to do a number of awkwardly set up holes. I was expecting a lot more from the course based on the reviews but overall the course was a let down. I won’t be playing here again anytime soon.
A Dallas Classic
Woodbridge is a great course. Some tight fairways and interesting hole layout make sure your course management skills are up to snuff. There's also ample opportunity for risk / reward if you're up to it. The greens are full of undulation, but roll true.
I can't speak highly enough about the folks in the pro-shop. Always super friendly. They recently changed up the kitchen and the food is amazing. I highly recommend the pulled pork sandwich. Yes... this is Texas and I'm claiming the BBQ at this GOLF COURSE is amazing.
DO NOT BOOK ANY TOURNAMENTS AT THIS COURSE!
Played in a scramble on Friday, 10/22/2021 that had a shotgun start at 1:00 pm. Our team came to Hole #1 at 5:00 pm with 4 holes to finish and the course started putting off groups into the middle of the tournament. They saw us walking off the 18 green coming to No.1 and they sent 2 walkers and M/F in cart onto the course in front of us. There were 7 more groups that needed to get through Hole #1 behind us and they continued putting the public into the middle of the scramble.
In 35+ years in DFW and playing in numerous scrambles per year, I have never had a course start putting stroke play groups especially after only 4 hours. If it was the head pro that allowed this he/she should be fired!!!
Even if the field did not fill all 18 holes, the field should have been set up so that the first group would go off Hole #1, with every group following it. That way, once the last group would have cleared Hole #1, no other groups would have been following and they could allow the public to follow the tournament.
1 problem
Pace of play was terrible. There were 2 marshals on the course, but the only time I saw the they were parked next to each other talking in the shade. There was a group of 5 in front of us playing from 3 different tee boxes. The marshals should have been driving around encouraging them to pick up their pace.
Woodbridge Golf Course
Great course. Lots of shade. Challenging. Had a great time.
Weed whacker
Everything was fantastic, except for the grounds keeper that was in front of us the entire time weed eating. It was absolutely uncalled for. He could care less that he was onky 150 years in front of us on every shot. Never seen that before.
Always a tough course
We played on labor day.... 5 hours plus. I am always amazed that 18 holes of golf can take so dang long. Course was in decent shape - good greens, a little over-watered fairways and green surrounds, and the rough was challenging. The bunkers are all being renovated and more than 50% were unplayable. The heat, slow pace and thick rough made this a challenging day. PLayed with my old friend Rick and that made it worthwhile. This course is not in my normal rotation, but the price and available tee time were good for us today.
