Cherry Island Golf Course

Cherry Island is a fun course to play. I will concentrate on course maintenance, specifically ball washers. There are only a handful and some of them are broken. Some don't have any water in them and the ones that have water it hasn't been changed in a long time. Ball comes out coated in dirty water. In addition, there are no towels to dry the ball. It seems that rates have gone up but even basic course amenities are lacking. Towels only cost a couple of dollars each so why are they not available.

It seems like whoever is responsible for course maintenance is not doing their job and course management is not aware or they don;t care.

Started a 7:18am and tee of with our starter very nice man, and after that we never had anyone really behind us or in front of us. Course was very nice but the sand wasn’t what I would expect playing here. Spending the money I did for the teetime on the app GolfNow I would recommend it. Staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. I ordered a steak burrito and it came out great! The layout of the course is interesting a couple holes on the front 9 are almost dangerous if people aren’t courteous where they are hitting. All that is part of the game in my opinion, however I would recommend people here for the quality and challenge of the course. I will be back to play here soon even with the layout, but would love quality sand.

Course was great condition. Greens were nice, a little fast. I would come back again.

Golf shop personnel were extremely helpful. I end up purchasing a new pair of shoes! Great pricing on shoes and bags.

Course was in great condition. Bit of tough layout with doglegs and such. Foursome in fron has us waiting at almost all tee boxes. One person in group left after 14 holes.

Ball cleaners have no water what’s in some is brown, you have to wait for course marshal to come around to get water, always short of carts have to wait most of the time just before T time to get one.

I was told by a course member that a new maintenance crew started. The fairways and non-green areas have an abundance of mowed grass that was NOT picked up. Cut grass was everywhere, especially in the rough along the side of the fairways and around the greens. Not sure why so much excess mowed grass was not picked up and just left on the course. Looks real poor when the grass turns brown. Also, the grass needs to be cut down little more. Many weeds in the fairways had week killer on it, but were not cut down. It looked strange and the some fairways looked unkept. The greens were the only bright spot. Fast, Firm, and Fun.

Course layout is great. Fairways and greens could use some major upkeep.

It’s a nice course, challenging, and a great price.
