Bad maintenance
I used to have regular membership when it was a private golf club but ever since it became a public course and changing the ownership and management, it has gone downhill to this day. Now it’s almost non playable: ponds and lakes are dried up, bunkers becoming dumping sites and fairways are torn. Greens are slow, damaged and filled with geese dung.
Course is in terrible conditions
The course seems to be declining. Sand traps are unplayable. Every green has dead spots and areas that are impossible to putt across. Half of Hole 16 green is unplayable. The only positive was that I got a great deal on GolfNow so I didn’t have to pay full price for this round.
Course Condition
Unfortunately the course condition have declined badly. Weeds run rapid on the fairway and greens. most greens are in extremely poor condition. Sands are pools of water and tee boxes, especially for women are taken over by crab grass.
Sad Story
This course used to be one of the premier courses in Sacramento. It now suffers horribly from neglect and poor basic maintenance. Greens are a mess with numerous ball marks, fairways are spotty, sand traps unplayable and tee boxes are a disaster! Very sad..
Falling Apart
This course just continues to go downhill the practice facilities are terrible the chipping green looks abandoned. The sand traps are horrible sand is muddy or hard and almost non-existent greens are in very rough shape I'm really shocked that a gated community golf course in such bad condition.
Morgan Creek Golf Course Review
I love golfing in Sacramento and seeing new courses. Some hit and others don't in the way that you envision. Because Morgan Creek was inside of a gated community, I expected more of a country club experience. The course wasn't in the best of shape, but that could be due to the time of the year. Tee boxes were sub par and the greens were chewed up. My guess is that improvement on these small things would enhance the experience. I am glad that I played, but I would probably choose other golf courses over Morgan Creek at this time.
Great course, slow play
I generally enjoy playing the course. The course is challenging, but fair if you stay in position off the tee. The greens were unusually slow with few in need of immediate repairs. There was that group that was pacing the course that caused the slow play. About 3 groups backed up. I presume The on course player assistant mentioned to them that they behind. He did not actually say that he did, but he knew which it was when we spoke to him???
Course in rough shape
Greens are not taken care of, dead grass everywhere. Most water hazards empty
Goat track.
This course is probably in the worst shape of any course I have ever played. That is NOT hyperbole! EVERY trap was unplayable, they should all have been labeled ground under repair! Greens were semi acceptable. Fairways sucked, tee boxes sucked, the "in between places" sucked. If I owned the place or worked there, I'd be embarrassed! Bear in mind, I hate leaving bad reviews.
Worst condition ever
It’s so sad to see this course in such terrible condition. It was built with great intentions and then just totally neglected! It could be a great track but as is, u less we get another super rate through golf now, we wont go back. Greens are diseased, fairways are dried out, super spotty and weeds have overtaken grass. A good track gone bad!!!
Course condition is bad
The greens are spotty with patches and bare spots and some have holes in them, and the aprons are in very poor condition (with bare spots and sand). The fairways are not much better (had to bump the ball to find some grass on many occasions). The traps are horrible-many should be declared out of play.
Bad Shaoe
The greens are in terrible shape, and there is standing water on numerous holes despite being 95°
