Nice Course
First time playing. The green where in great condition. Piece of supply was a little slow due to women’s group ahead of us.. I like the layout. It wasn’t very long, but if you’re in the fairway, you had a shot for the green most of the time.. a lot of wild turkeys on the course, which was kind of strange.
Great course! 👍
First time playing. Great couse👌 has it's challenges, we'll manicured
Sort'a my home course.
I live a mile away, but I don't play here often. Pro shop rack rate is high enough that it doesn't compete with other local courses. I only play here when Golf Now has a hot deal. The course itself is a friendly track. If you can hit your targets you will not lose a ball here. Most holes have fenced homes on both sides. A few holes go through wooded areas, where the rough is deep. The practice putting green is marvelous. The driving range is great when the tees are moved forward of the astroturf matts. Range balls are mediocre quality and mostly in ratty condition.
Good and bad
Just overpriced for the public, layout is fun and challenging but the course amenities are poor, no beverage cart but one hole. Not ideal to have a “fivesome” with a walker ahead of two golfers. Poor golf etiquette, no one fixes divots and must include the maintenance staff as well I won’t play again for the price .
One of Sac’s best courses
Timber Creek never fails to present a fun, fair and challenging test. Each hole has personality, especially on the back 9. 12 is an especially good hole. One member of our foursome had to leave early but he stayed a little longer just for that hole. Multiple sets of tees make this course accessible for everyone.
Good but not great
Recently aerated, combined with they haven't mowed the greens in several days, so both bumpy and shaggy. The traps lack sand and are generally very poor. Numerous late-summer burned fairways and tee boxes. They had a late discount for my T-Time that was $15 cheaper, I wish I had waited as its wasn't a good value this time out.
It was extremely disappointing to show up at the course to find the greens have been aerated just a few days ago. This info should have been posted on the course website and reflected on TeeOff, and/or GolfNow. Buyers beware. When you pay a fair price to play a rd of golf, you expect a certain condition of the course. When the course condition has changed, it no longer warrants the price you paid. The worst par of the entire experience is the staff in the Pro Shop insisted aerated greens was advertised on their website, which is not true. The person check-in behind me confirmed that the info wasn't on their website and he is surprised of the aerated greens like me!
5.5 hour game. NOT the fault of golf course
Arrived as a solo player. Got teamed up with 2 guys 90 & 92 years old. One of them is a resident and club member They couldn't hit the ball out of their own shadows. They have limited mobility. Game was close to six hours. Management is well aware of the guys lack of ability to keep pace. It's probably against the law to discriminate against elders but he guys should be denied tee times.
Great Greens
Greens are in nice condition and putt pretty true. The staff here are always great and friendly. Nice course for an afternoon of golf.
Great layout, amenities could be better
The only criticism I have is the availability of food and drinks. There's no drink cart, so you have to go into the restaurant which gives the feel of a nice sit down and order place. It would be nicer if there was a walk up windows to get quick food and drinks. Lastly there were no coolers available.
