Cherry Island Golf Course

Pace of play slow at 7:58 on a Sunday morning you would not think it would be.Fairways long the only good thing the greens were good.Would play it again.

Issue with ball machine at range. well checking in want it a bucket of balls to warm up. The guy in the store said to pay him take the receipt to the guy outside at the range and he’ll give us a bucket of balls. Nobody was out handling the range balls. When some guy finally showed up he said oh take your receipt back to the store and get a refund. Should’ve been better coordination between the store and the guy on the range. I had to go to our tee time so I did not have time to go get a refund for my bucket of balls. The next time I’m out there I’m gonna ask for my money back for the bucket of balls I never received.

When we checked in there was no cart available but the staff was very courteous and helpful so that we were still able to start playing only a few minutes late. One of the carts died just finishing up the front nine. There was no problem. The greens were fast enough to get a good score. Fairways needed some maintenance work. Pro shop had ample supplies of merchandise that is very good and helpful. The players greeted us friendly and courteous to each other. Twice the beverage cart lady came around and the marshal came by a couple of times asking me if I was enjoying and having a good score. It appeared that gone are the days when some hooligans were terrifying my wife hitting her while we were putting on the greens. Thanks for your good work to make the course better. Thanks to the GolfNow also. We didn’t get any birdie, although I missed a half dozen birdies.

Nice public course but always seems to struggle to have enough carts available. Have played this twice in the last month and each time didn’t have a cart available until tee time. This is an interesting course - par fives are very short but not easy with forced carries and doglegs. Greens are in pretty good condition - sand traps aren’t bad. Very friendly staff. Worth playing if < $35

So, masks are required inside, AND you must cart up with

a stranger if you come as a single. Very contradicting. The

staff is argumentative and unprofessional. I booked a

group of 3. One of our players is immune compromised

and needs his own cart. There's 3 of us, it shouldn't be a

problem. I politely declined to have him cart up with a

stranger. I said if they were low today, we could play

somewhere else and come back another day.

He said they'd make it work. Then I get to the cart barn

and apparently we're the group that "threw a fit".

We received our carts 40 minutes after our tee time. After

the round we are leaving, and the gentleman from the pro

shop attempts to instigate an argument with one in our

group. "Hey pal, next time I'm not honoring another cart.

You've been warned"

Like seriously? We asked politely and offered to come

back another day. This is normal at any other course.

The cherry on top of cherry island is the guaranteed 5

hour round every time.

Cherry Island is one of my favorite local public courses. It's challenging and always kept in great condition.

Rain broke and not many on course so the pace was great. Lost a few more balls ithan would have liked, but enjoyed the relaxed play.

Greens were in great shape after come back from plugging greens about a month ago! Had to repair more divots than I made, some players do not know how to repair a divot correctly, and don’t want to anyway!

great playing partners. everyone played well and had a great time.

I have played the course numerous times, but this was the first in about 3 months. The bunkers are horrible. The tee boxes are maybe the worse I have ever seen them. Chunky grass and very un-even. The guys I played with complained, but said with a Hot Deal from Tee Off or GolfNow it is the only reason they play the course. Four and half hours from a 12:30 p.m. tee time on a Tuesday! No marshal. Courses are getting lots of play at top dollars. They need to start taking care of their courses.

Fun course, good company, solid score! No complaints, it’s golf ⛳️

First time playing this course in more than a decade. Everyone was very friendly; had to wait for a cart until just before the tee time but not a big issue. Played from the blue tees which is a bit longer than we usually play (about 6,200 yards preferred) but may be somewhat easier from the tee since white tees bring hazards into play for longer hitters. Some forced carries and blind shots but overall not a very hard course if you keep it in the fairway (true for every course I suppose). Course in good condition and get good rollout in fairways; fairways are OK with a few bare spots or crap grass but greens were in good condition and rolled well. Would play again.

Anytime you can GOLF it’s always a great day! Unfortunately today they ran out of carts n that had a lot of us an hour behind. They need more Marshall’s to push slow groups. Course is in fair conditions but layout is tuff if you’re not accurate.

course in excellent condition even with the greens just aerated and sanded. will be perfect in a couple of weeks ready for the winter.
