Cherry Island Golf Course

This is a very nice course, just a bit tough today. The greens have not yet recovered from being aerated. They were slow and inconsistent and the ball was still bouncing , not running true. But, don’t let this sound like a horrible review. Most of the course was in excellent shape. The fairways were great for Late summer. The tee boxes were decent too. I would love to see a few trees trimmed but they are a huge part of the charm and difficulty, narrow tree line fairways.

Drove about 1h 10 min to get here, good value, good pace very fun day. Will come again.

great skillful golfing partners. course in great conditions for end of summer with a few bare spots but not many and greens in excellent shape.

Course was fine, my game wasn’t. We had to wait on several holes so it made for a long day. All in all it was a fun day.

Came back for a round with a friend. Course still the same, slow pace for a wed am. Greens ok, tees worn and fairways too wet. But it’s been that way forever so why get upset.

It’s a well played muni with decent greens and minimal roll in the fairways.

5 hour round. We asked Marshal to speed up a twosome ahead of us. Good luck with that! Anybody can drive around and pass out water.

A pleasure to golf here even in 100 degree heat. It's a fun, challenging course with lots of trees and water to navigate. I'll be back!

Hadn’t played Cherry since the re-design. The trees have grown to make it much more of a visual challenge. Condition was pretty lush with access to water. The whole course was a pleasure to play.

I’m sad to write this review because I loved this course two years ago but it’s really gone downhill. I’ve given it multiple more chances but have been faced with disappointment yet again. The first hole takes most people at least 10 min to finish and yet they book tee times less than 5 min apart. This time and the time before that they didn’t have carts ready when I checked in. There was a backup on hole 1 and when you’re starting behind schedule expect a 5+ hour round. And for how much they overbook you don’t see that money going into the course, crab grass everywhere on fairways and greens. If this was the only time I wouldn’t be writing this review but it has been a constant, won’t be coming here again.

First time playing here. My friend and I were lucky enough to be paired up with a couple easy going golfers. The course was in decent shape, greens had some pitch marks. Two items of concern ; our tee time was at 11:26, we showed up more than 30 minutes early and had to wait for a cart right up until our tee time. The biggest disappointment was the pace of play, it took us 5 and one half hours to complete our round. We had a group of SIX in front of us !

There is a good balance between not so bad and a good challenge! One saving grace during the hot days are the shade trees over each tee box, or so it seemed. Nice touch.

Played twice in the last few weeks at CIGC and the back played very slow both times. The Marshall’s seemed totally unaware of the slow play and we’re concerned with with providing water because of the heat. ( good thing) but shouldn’t be one demential with reguardada to their reason fir being out on the course. Course was quite soggy in spots. Range and restrooms needs attention too.
