Mather Golf Course

For the course:

It seems to be the covid protocol for everywhere these days to stack tee times so closely on top of each other that congestion is inevitable. Especially when no Marshall is enforcing pace of play. At times 3 groups were waiting on a tee box during this round. Overall for the walking price it was a good time and was able to squeeze the last two holes in before dark and at $24 not bad.

For other players:

I’d say it’s also a mix of player etiquette, stop looking for balls that are clearly OB and then trying to shoot some random ball you found out of the junk you’re not lefty take your drop and move it along; same with off the box if you shank one go drop where you went OB and quite backing the course up and the final rant stop playing two balls when the course is packed go spend your money at the range.

First time playing this course rolled up 20 minutes before my teatime ready to go get to the Teebox there’s four groups backed up and we don’t tee off until 15 minutes after the scheduled time. Normally that would be fine but when your teatime is at 1:58 and they don’t take off until 215 now you’re paying for a full round of golf that you do t get because of them and their poor management. At the turn the cafe is closed at 4 so no food or drink available. The course itself is actually very well-maintained I was surprised the greens are definitely hard to read some or a bit fast but otherwise course maintenance was actually impressive for a county operated course. The reason I wouldn’t recommend it is because of the poor management of players and course time the excuse was they had tournaments and it was a very busy day my suggestion is don’t be greedy then and stop taking everybody’s money knowing that you won’t be able to provide them with the 18 hole round that you paid for.

Very nice golf course being well-maintained. Key box is fairways and greens we’re in very good condition. This was the first time at this course, will definitely be coming back.

An excellent layout on the front 9. Had an awesome round and we didn’t start until 2:30pm

Countryside views on this course, made the afternoon so peaceful. Turkeys, rabbits and golfers soaked up the rays of sunshine.

Got a good deal at GolfNow. Greens were solid, pace of play ok. Condition good. I would recommend.

Overall course in good shape. Some dry areas in the fairways. If I hit the fairway in a dry area, I would take a drop onto grass. Not there to hurt myself. Tight lies around greens, bump and run order of the day, hard to get close when short sided. Greens where firm, not all cut the same, hard to read, but extremely fair.. Overall a great golf experience.

Played Sat morning.. 4 3/4 hour round. Course was in good condition.

Mather is a relatively easy course so we played the blue cheese which is about 6400 yards typically like to stay closer to 6000 to 6200. Course and greens were in pretty good condition; that’s not always the case here especially during the winter since it does not drain well. Pace of play was very good and of course staff, especially the starter, were extremely friendly. All in all one of the best experiences I’ve had at Mather.
