Great fairway conditions
Pace of play was perfect. Staff always friendly. Course conditions were good.
Straightforward course
Mather is a former Air Force base course nowowned and operated by the County of Sacramento with wide fairways, onlly 1 forced carry (a par 3), over flat terrain with relatively unguarded greens. It plays shorter than its measured yardage, making it an ideal course for higher handicap players,or for anyone looking for a better-than-average score. Greens roll relatively well, and conditioning is good for a public course. Enjoyable but not challenging.
Our 1/2 round of golf today!!
Attempted to get in a round of golf today 4/4/20.
Although mother nature had different plans.With,
this CV-19 being the main focus on everyone's plate
right now the golf buddies & myself had to get out of
the house.We had a tee time at 9:02 & were able to get
out a little earlier, good thing.Cause just as we were packing up the rain started.The course & greens were in
very good shape,no rakes in traps cause of virus.
Guys in pro shop very friendly & very helpful with crediting our back "9".
We will definitively play this course again.
Nice course with fair green
Course is flat but interesting trees and greens.
It's perfect for high single digit handicapper gain the confidence.

Greens a bit slow.
One of the few courses open in these trying times. so blessed to get out. cups are raised so you do not have to touch the flag stick. pay through window slightly open. I felt very safe
Mather in Great Shape
Mather has taken all the necessary precautions to address COVID-19. Hole raised 1 inch, ball washers covered, sand takes gone. The pace of okay has been awesome. Played twice in 7 days, 3.5 & 4.0 hrs respectively. Play Mather Now!
Great place to play with Covid-19 restrictions
The course is in excellent shape and they have taken great steps to protect their staff and customers. The holes are raised so that you just need to hit the cup. No need to touch the flag stick. The bunkers are considered to be ground under repair so that there is no need for raking. They are restricting one person per golf cart. I felt very safe (a lot more than other courses I played during this time).

mather has been put back into gorgeous fairways and greens. bunkers could use some sand but otherwise course is in just about perfect playing condition. we beat the rain so weather was overcast but in perfect playing condition. had a great time with our foursome. everyone loved the playing conditions.

The weather has been exceptionally dry this year, consequently the course is pretty hard . It could do with a lot more water to give some softer landings.. However, the greens are very fast.

Amazing layout! Really fun to play, I lost a ball but that’s okay!
Good Condition
Course has really dried out with this break in the rain. Playing the best I’ve ever seen it in the winter time right now, get out here before it rains again. Greens rolling really well. Teed off just before 8 am and finished in just over 3 hours.

Still wet from recent rains
Fair course but still very wet/muddy from winter rains which contribute to very thin lies throughout the course.
Pace of play was very good and greens rolled nicely. Give a few weeks with minimal rains and the course should be in very nice condition.
