Great Muni Course
This is a hidden gem... Great old school course and club house. Nice selection of golfing equipment etc within pro shop. Golf carts are like new. Course design is well thought out. Wide fairways all around. Beautiful large trees littered throughout the whole course. I feel like I found my home course and will return soon.
Course Conditions
Course is in really great shape, especially the greens. They have really nice and seemingly new carts.
Overall condition was good. However, tee boxes could use some TLC. It would be nice if players repaired their ball marks on the greens.
We will return for sure
Mather CG was a joy to play. Friendly staff, good range and practice area, course conditions excellent, friendly layout. Mather is not an extreme golf experience like many courses we have played recently but nonetheless a really fun golf experience. We will be playing this course often now that we know what to expect. And.....with an ongoing midweek senior discount you cannot go wrong.
Wonderful experience
Walked this course again and finished in 3hr 15min. The course was in great condition and staff was friendly as usual. Extremely easy course to walk, and they offer a walk rate that can't be beat. Thanks!
A Day at Mather Golf Course
Course was in pretty good condition considering,
all the rain we've had lately.Sand Traps need some
love & sand.Greens overall are pretty true ,
after their able to mow them should be better and
a lot faster.overall it was a fun day & priced right.
I'll play this course again
Bad Drainage
This course needs to fix their drainage problem there should not be puddles in the fairway after the rains have stopped four days before you played, poor drainage set up not fun loosing balls in the muddy fairways.
Soggy but playable
I’ve played this course 3 times now and today was the wettest, we have had a lot of rain lately. There were areas that were very soggy and areas that were fine. The fairways were long, which is understandable due to not being able to mow with it so wet. The bunkers were in poor shape, however I had two great outs anyways. The greens were in excellent shape!!
Not maintained
Carts are nice staff is nice. Not sure if i just played on a bad day but the course was not maintained at all. Fairways were just as long if not longer than the rough. Spent more time looking for balls in the fairway than playing.
Course is fun to play! Was a bit wet and soggy just rained 2 days before cart path only but overall very happy
Fun public track
Played here for an amateur tournament and the course was in good shape. Fun layout, with a couple memorable holes. Fairly easy with small greens.
Overall, worth it for local Sacramento golfers to go give a try if you haven't played!
Great course for the price
Was really surprised that the course wasn’t soggy and muddy after the rain we’ve had. Very friendly staff from pro shot to the Marshall. Wide fairways but you’ll have to hit a good tee shot otherwise it’ll be a long ways to recovery if you hit it on the matured trees and fairly long holes. It also has rewarding holes to play.
Great course in Sacramento
The course was in good shape. The rough was not onerous like some of the other courses in the area. Greens were in good condition and not too fast. Pace of play was great.
