A simple track
My first time playing this course. It's a simple layout, essentially flat, with very few doglegs or significant hazards. The greens are very well maintained, fast yet receptive. The fairways are a mix of green and brown, but not surprising given the hot summer we just got through.
Pace of play is a little bad, 8 minute tee times result in too many players and not enough holes. There were holes where 2 groups were on the tee waiting for the group in the fairway, who were waiting for the group on the green.
This is a good course for shorter hitters or beginners, because the lack of hazards off the tee and alongside the fairways means you won't lose too many balls. Also it would be an easy course to walk because it is so flat.
This course is about 45 minutes from my house, and I don't think I'd make that drive again.
Great course for money
I am beginning to love this course. Less crowded than other local courses. Well maintained green. Easy of getting teetimes. Friendly staffs. Great food. This course will be my home court to years to come. So blessed to have a great playground near home...
Last minute hot deal play
Last minute, I had the afternoon off so I checked golfnow and there was a single hot deal tee time available. Course is a little baked out and the greens were fast but bumpy. Pace was a little slow but it looked like a tournament had just finished. Since it was backed up on #16, I cut over to #11 and #12. Backed up again so snuck to #6 and finished the front nine. 21 holes played... all is good!
Fairways dry
Bald spots or dirt on fairways very dry and short finished under ,4 hours
Mather Golf Course
Fun course. Lots of wild turkeys and geese. Nice country setting.
Great local course - need Marshall
Had a blast playing Mather. One minor issue was a very, very slow group that would not let groups play through. They slowed the entire course down badly!! We had to skip a hole and were 2 holes ahead of them after only 3 holes played. Could use a Marshall. Did have a great time with my kiddo.
Day of fun
Immediately the staff is extremely helpful. This is a very well stocked golf course. The layout is great, especially for beginners or intermediate pace of play was just awesome. Course needs a little bit of work, but it’s great other than that.
