Love this course.
The greens are tricky, but true. When in doubt the brake is down canyon. Course is in great shape. The approaches were softer than in the past. Also, nice walking course. Elevation changes but not too steep.

One of my favorite courses in the county.
The staff has done an excellent job in getting the course in pristine condition. The greens are smooth and true. A very firm test of ones golfing abilities. Always a treat to play here!

It's a great links course
First time here, after reading about the course. Played on a weekday. Very pleasant and peaceful round of golf - the area is quiet (great for concentration). Paired with a very competitive 2-some and another competitive, knowledgeable single, so my ball striking amplified and accuracy was great. Very enjoyable links course, amber-rust colored terrain surrounding the green course and wildlife on the course. Beautiful scenery for photos on several holes (e.g. # 14-16). This course cares about the client experience, fine-grained small details, and carried great vibes. Very difficult greens and fringes, many slopes, and all about target golf. Great challenge for approach shots, and even tee box strategies (don't always use a driver here). I will return and bringing friends next time. Here are the Pros and Cons on this course:
Pros:
1 - Great, flat driving range with mats, great clipping, bunker and bump and roll practice area.
2 - Course had water barrels with cold water, cups at Driving range and on holes. Broken tee containers next to the tee box markers. Ball washing stations with towels were perfect.
3 - Scenery is great and unique, many colors in the surrounding cliffs.
4 - Course conditions were great. Grass looked great to me. Wide fairways looked great and consistent. Greens looked perfect to play and demands strategic shot positioning (practice short game accuracy, chipping, flop shots, fringe putting heavily).
5 - Pace of play was as perfect as it gets (~4 hours, walking mostly). Great place for walking the course.
6 - Staff on-site and spectators were friendly, very good vibes here, and kept professional. Quality people at this place.
7 - GPS in standard golf carts, with ice in cooler.
8 - Practice greens were in nice location.
Cons:
1 - Some people answering phones were very rude, hung up on me. Don't call with questions here.
2 - No course-specific merchandise was in stock and no photos were available to see it at the pro shop.
3 - Need steps (not a dirt path) on the walk up to hole #16 tee boxes, which is a signature viewpoint of this course. Need to install a classy staircase here.
Great links course at a great price point. It's a quality golf experience at this place.

A Gem
I used to live in the area and I was coming through on a trip and I wanted to revisit RC. I was not disappointed. Beautiful setting, lovely greens, good layout. I loved every minute of it. Sure the fairways are easier to get into than Arizona State, but that's part of the charm. So if you're in the area and not looking to abuse yourself (looking at you Tierra Rejada) I highly recommend it.
