Rio Vista Golf Club
About
The Golf Club at Rio Vista is situated at the heart of northern California. With a scenic spot near the Sacramento River Delta, the course is even named after its scenic river view. The river delta meets rolling hills on this tough providing a unique setting equipped with distinctive water features. The skillfully crafted water holes are the trademarks of the design. The design mimics the natural lines carved by the river delta. The fairways are wide open but lengthy and generous greens can also be quite challenging as well. Rio Vista is a golf course that has appeal for players of all skill levels from novices to pros, whether it's the scenery or the diverse layout. Be careful on windy days though, the open course can be especially brutal.

It's getting better
The course was mowed. That is a huge improvement from just a few weeks ago. It's going to take a while to get back into shape. Some tee boxes were not great.
Bottom line is for the price and ease of making a starting time just a few days before, and the price I'd recommend it. just now the course is trying to make a comeback, and we all love a good comeback story.
TERRIBLE
Course is in terrible condition. Restaurant is SLOW, ordered HOT DOGS at the turn and took over 30 MINUTES. Do NOT recommend playing here at all
Need more work
A lot better from the last time I played here. Still a lot of work to be done. New management is seriously doing what’s needed for be done to bring the course back to it’s old pristine condition. Definitely will be back to play it again!
Still working on improving
Greens are good but still need more work on fairways sandboxes are looking good also
Decent course
This course is in year 2 of their 5 year plan. They are definitely making strides towards a nice fun course. As it stands right now, I enjoy the layout and it’s just a fun course to play. They are renovating some holes and in the past the maintenance hasn’t been bad, but if you can look past that and see the potential this course has, it could easily be a “best-value” course soon. I enjoy the pace of play and friendliness of this course. If you’re looking for a fun decently priced course, this is it. If you’re looking for a very nice course and a challenge, maybe look somewhere else.
Course make over
I relocated to Northern California just of recent.
I have been looking and trying née courses. I had seen previous reviews and was horrid of it.
I had went there and I got info on a make over. They have a 5 year plan to fix the course and are 2 years in.
I will say the course is absolutely stunning! The staff was beyond amazing and helpful with so much knowledge of golf snd the course.
I truly enjoyed playing the entire course and will happily be back!
Course needs lots of love.
I bet when it first opened the track was awesome!! But now not so much. Fairways over grown with weeds. Rough had twice as much. Was told they are in the process of remodeling the course? I will come back then!
Course is in horrible shape
Dead spots in the fiarways. weeds in bunkers, water puddles and water moving across fairways.. This used to be a nice course that I played often. I know they have had financial problems but it's really in terrible shape.
I hope they can make changes and bring it back around
Horrible
Great layout, great friendly staff, horrible maintenance, good luck finding your ball in the extremely long and ridiculous rough which are weeds
Kinda under construction
I'm told the Homeowners association recently purchased the course. Previous owner let it go downhill. The new owners are doing their best to bring the course back to the high standards, it once was. Until they are able to mow outside of the fairway, don't spend too much time trying to find your ball....Pace of play is more important.
Hat's off, to those responsible for attempting to bring Rio Vista Trilogy GC back to life.
It's a Hot Mess right now, but playable and enjoyable, providing you stay on the short grass.
Take lots of golf balls, just in case.
Cut the grass
This course has so much potential. We played on Sunday and there was hardly anyone on the course which was awesome. Don’t hit your ball in the ruff because you won’t find it. It was U.S. open rough or the maintenance was on vacation a month or two. There is a old grumpy man that lives on hole number 8 that used profanity towards my friend who was pickup my other friend up from the hole!!
Greens a little slow. Over all a good day but get out there and cut the grass. It will make more enjoyable for the golfers. Stay away from the grumpy old man too!!
The course is not in good shape
Course is in pretty bad shape right now, especially sand traps. It's been wet and the grass is so long in some areas that you can't find you ball. Many tee boxes are just weeds and dirt. The greens are the only thing that's decent right now.
Golf course is in very bad shape
This course has a nice layout, however it has not been mowed in weeks. The middle of the fairway on 90% of the holes have not been cut in weeks. I lost 10 brightly colored fluorescent balls in the middle of the fairway due to tall grass and clover growth. Piles of debris were everywhere and I don’t see how they can charge full price for such a poor golf experience. Greens were in decent shape, but the rest of the course needs basic course upkeep desperately. I asked for a rain check to try them again in better course conditions and they denied.
Will be great in 2 years
HOA recently took over maintenance focusing on greens and approach fairways. There is no driving range. When fully renovated this will be a great course. Do not play after it rains….very soggy
