About
The Golf Club at Rio Vista is situated at the heart of northern California. With a scenic spot near the Sacramento River Delta, the course is even named after its scenic river view. The river delta meets rolling hills on this tough providing a unique setting equipped with distinctive water features. The skillfully crafted water holes are the trademarks of the design. The design mimics the natural lines carved by the river delta. The fairways are wide open but lengthy and generous greens can also be quite challenging as well. Rio Vista is a golf course that has appeal for players of all skill levels from novices to pros, whether it's the scenery or the diverse layout. Be careful on windy days though, the open course can be especially brutal.

Quick take: play on discount if you can, full green fee would be poor value in current state. But I will be back.
They had just sanded the greens, so putting was a crapshoot, the fairways were in rough shape, very pitty and rock hard (helped get two of my drives over 320yds though), and the rough was in real need of a mowing (I lost balls that were just off the fairway).
That said, there's a ton of potential here. The course has a great layout, and it's clear that the new management is putting their focus on course rehab. I'll be reading reviews as time goes to see how the course is coming along, because I would like to play it again
Good course,nice layout
We.played on a Saturday and we completed 18 holes in 4hrs, there was.a Marshall on site. We.saw him a couple of times and asked us about pace of play , we were satisfied very friendly staff..
Nice surprise
First time at Rio Vista... pleasantly surprised with the lay out and conditions. Set in a really nice neighborhood. Coarse layout plays well for intermediate to advanced players. Green we’re very nice and fairways and sand traps nice as well. Will definitely play here again soon
Weeds are taking over
The weeds are coming back badly and the tall grass in spots is over 6 inches tall.
Rio. Vista. Getting better but not there yet.
Glad to see that the course is finally getting some TLC. The geeens are good, as are the free side bunkers.
The fairways have lots of really dry patches.
No scorecards available. The reason given doesn’t fly ( the man in the pro shop blamed the county for not having scorecards available, which was a rubbish statement because every other course in the county has scorecards available)..
Nice course
Enjoyed playing at Rio Vista. It is well kept and the greens are challenging but good. T'he course plays long and not easy.

needs help. Take out some of the fairway bunkers that are just dirt right now. Plant some grass.
Great improvements made to make us to play here more regularly.
A year ago, I didn’t give this course a good review and said that I would return after one year to check if the new owners have truly made some improvements. I returned today one year later and I am not disappointed. Yes, they DID make a great improvement, especially in the hazard and bunker areas. Fairways are a lot better than a year ago. Tee boxes still need some more works done. Yardage signs are needed as well. Staff are conscientious of what need to be done and treat the customers with professional courtesy and kindness. Even the players attitude has changed for better. We will definitely make this again as one of our routinely playing golf courses. Thanks again for the good work that the new owners’ put in.
