Mission/Friars at Riverwalk Golf Club

Tee boxes were a little ratty, parts of the fairways were brown (acceptable after the heat wave), greens were very good. Fun course.

I paid $115 to play at Riverwalk today. Boy was that a mistake! Fairways were 50% dirt and 50% mixed Kikuya grass in clumps. There were sunflower seeds on the greens. Teed off at 6:30 and finished front nine at 9:14am. Almost a 3-hour front nine and we were 3rd off. No marshals present to push the group ahead of us along. I was an out-of-towner so I didn’t know better but conditions were worse than my local municipal in Los Angeles. Some greens were in good shape despite the 50 ball marks not fixed. Overall, 2/10 for course condition. I will say guy in clubhouse who checked me in was very cool and gave me a free cart.

Fun course near airport. Rental clubs are pricey but great set. Got to play with the course regular and entertaining guy O.T.

Played many times always in similar condition.Wetness around fairways.Some dry areas roped off.Areas overall playable, especially when it was.

Very light play this day Overall fun experience greens always soft. Receptive, not really fast, but fairly true. Typically always have fun here, just some.

Inconsistencies, throw out.

Lots of ground under repair all over the course. Very patchy with work being done. Very soggy in places. Overall conditions did not match the price tag.

First two holes were being replanted but the remaining 16 holes were in excellent condition.

Pace of play was lot better than last time..fairways and greens in good shape

I recommend bar closes later and tee time a little more spaced as we had to pass a couple of forsons

The Good- A very drivable par 4, plenty of water, strategicly placed bunkers makes for a fun round.

The Bad- 5 hour+ round due to being packed in right behind a Tournament. I wish there was a heads up when booking, I would have sought to play this track on a different day.

No one should have to play a round of golf, that is not a tournament or event, 5 1/2 hours. We were happy to be walking, but NOT for 5 1/2 hours.

It's a work in progress here and there, but still a nice place to play. Pace was nice on a weekday. Greens were a good speed. 17 may seem short but take extra to get over the river. Had a pleasant group to go around with which made the day.......

The course is under maintenance to repair much needed tee boxes and fairways (thank you Riverwalk) but we still paid regular price while the course is torn up. Also, many fairways are a sloppy mess which makes it impossible to hit your ball out of the mud. This course needs to fix their drainage problems. .
