Bonaventure Country Club - West Course

I have always felt the layout is a true test of golf with a solid traditional layout. No stupid holes. The course conditions are markedly improving fairways are greens are fertilized and this course will soon be among the best around again.

January 2025: I am updating my review to 4 stars because of even more improvement to course conditions. The greens are fabulous and fairways are the best I have seen them in years. Bunkers are all filled with new sand and would be perfect if golfers took the time to rake them. A new fleet of carts as well. Pace of play is a bit slow.

I have been playing at Bonaventure for 23 years, and can remember when they had two pristine championship courses. After they sold one course to develop homes, they let the other course go. For the past few years the conditions had deteriorated so bad and they “lost” several of their greens. I played the course today and was extremely surprised and pleased to see that the conditions have changed for the better. In past years I would not recommend playing the course, but after today, all levels of golfer will enjoy playing here.

This is truly the best deal in Broward County for a very enjoyable round of golf. The staff is friendly and are handling tee times better than in the past. Pace of play was surprisingly good too.

Not my first time playing here, south Florida is always on the more expensive side, I can understand that. However, the past few times I’ve been here I’ve left feeling unwelcomed. Definitely do not recommend new golfers to come here. The starter yells at everyone like I’m in boot camp again. Staff needs to realize not everyone is a snowbird, locals play here too. If you can look past a brash staff and spending more than you should, go for it.

Fairways and greens are in very good conditions, nice layout, gotta play safe but overall it's playable. Not my first visit and not my last.

Saw mixed reviews on this course. I was pleasantly surprised. Some of the best greens I've encountered on Florida courses in January. Rolled true and were receptive. Course was in great shape, lots of water and setup shots, great variety. I played gold tees and it was long enough for Sr players.........I would say, the Forward tees are pretty long for most older seniors and females. I would play it again.

Good course with a variety of tee boxes to suit your handicap, having said that many of the tee boxes are in rough shape and some of the greens also leave something to be desired. Overall though I’d ply there again and would recommend it as a good challenge at a reasonable price

Golf is slow because the carts are loaded up at the first tee all day long. Rounds are close to 5 hours in length but the course is in great shape.

Course conditions have become very good. Greens are in excellent shape and bunkers all have consistent new sand. Pace of play can be an issue but staff is doing the best they can.

Very windy ,cold,rainy day made for a challenging day. I would definitely play this course again especially with the military discount.

Last time we played was in 2020 and it was not in very good condition. Much improved since. Greens are in good shape and roll well. Lots of sands in bunkers. Fairways in pretty good condition

Would definitely play again and would recommend
