The Reserve at Orange Lake Resort
About
There are two 18-hole championship courses and two nine-hole courses at Orange Lake Resort & Country Club. The Reserve is the newer of the championship golf courses although technically it could be considered the older of the two. Originally designed in 1982 by Joe Lee, 16 years before the Arnold Palmer-designed Legends was added, the course was completely redesigned in 2005. New water features and more sand were added and seven holes were rerouted and redesigned. One hole that was made more challenging was the fifth hole. A long par 4 was transformed into a long par 3 that plays to almost 215 yards. In addition to the four golf courses, Orange Lake also boasts a lighted driving range and putting green as well as two chipping greens, one which features a sand bunker.

Rained off
Arrived at the course in the Forida sunshine, we played 6 holes when the rain started, we sat it out for a bit but when it comes down side ways it was time to pack in, when we got back to the drop off we were issued with a rain check for another 18 holes, so well done Orange Reserve. Florida would be a beautiful place if it had a roof over it ? We will be back soon.
Interesting course
Could only play 9 holes on the Reserve course since the other 9 holes were under renovation. Really enjoyed the Reserve course, the other 9 holes were okay.
How dissapointing
I am a central florida resident. We book golf all the time on Golf Advisor. Unfortunately we were not informed that the front nine of the course we made reservations for was closed. Instead we were sent to the Par 3 course followed by the back nine of the course we had paid for. None of the course we played was in good condition, so I would have hated to see the condition of the front 9. Spoke to the manager about our concerns after the round. He was basically indifferent to out concerns. Will not be back here for a long time to come.
Nice course
I have played this course before and the course conditions were better then than they were now. Greens need work.
it was after over-night rain but the course stood up well it was the first time I played the course and I enjoyed it I will be playing it the next time I'm in town
Resort Course Resort Fees Course is maintained
The course was filled with dry rot though out course Greens tee boxes and fairways sand traps were mostly dried up I would not suggest this course to anyone unless they get it for about $40
Too bad Too sad
having played here many times over the last 5 years....since this management company took over and basically ruined golf all over central florida,,,they took great pride in making this nothing more than a dog track.....can't tell where the rough ends and the fairways start....greens are cancer covered....pathetic shape...should be ashamed to charge money at all.....pretty bad when the tee box is the nicest part of the course.....maybe should put a hole and flag on the tee box and putt first....too bad when a company takes over and ruins it for everybody with their thinking of not putting money in but taking all kinds of money out....nice....NOT....kids playing in greenside bunker on number 4...no marshals...cart girl didn't want to get involved...sad sad days ahead for this resort
Save your money, play the legends course instead.
This my 2nd time playing this course, I played it back in October 2016... This time around, the course was easily the worst course I've played in my life in terms of condition. The tee boxes and fairways were non existent, and the greens had enough sand to win a sand castle competition... It's a shame too because we actually enjoyed the layout. It's tight and set up for a shot maker and most shots require some creativity. Unfortunately, it only left us trying to come up with creative ideas on how to leave... Courses in this poor of condition should be no more than $20 with a cart. The fact that it is considered a resort course and they charge resort rates is unbelievable. If you're staying at the resort, save your money and play the legends course, or just go somewhere else. There are some positives though.... the staff was very friendly and the pace of play was very good. They just need to take some time and give the course some love. With some work, this would be an outstanding and challenging track.
Needs Work
Greens were decent for being punched recently, but fairways and tees need a lot of work.
It sux
This course is not worthy of your worst effort. Narrow fairways, small greens in poor shape. It is not even pretty. We will quit golfing rather than play here again.
Don't believe the hype.
Very disappointed with the staff and amenities. My bag was strapped on backwards and they don't even have wet towels.
Okay at right price
The course is clearly in need of love and attention. A lot of damage on a number of greens and areas of fairways & tees in need of attention. Bunkers looked to be well maintained...which was a little odd! Course state partly down to lack of rain I'm sure.
Nice lay-out but very American....driver off every par 4 for instance.
Worth playing but not for more than I paid($26 total).
good course for any golfers
This is a resort golf course. The course was in good shape even due to lack of rain. The price is reasonable now; because snowbirds are gone to
the homes.
