The Reserve at Orange Lake Resort
About
There are two 18-hole championship courses and two nine-hole courses at Orange Lake Resort & Country Club. The Reserve is the newer of the championship golf courses although technically it could be considered the older of the two. Originally designed in 1982 by Joe Lee, 16 years before the Arnold Palmer-designed Legends was added, the course was completely redesigned in 2005. New water features and more sand were added and seven holes were rerouted and redesigned. One hole that was made more challenging was the fifth hole. A long par 4 was transformed into a long par 3 that plays to almost 215 yards. In addition to the four golf courses, Orange Lake also boasts a lighted driving range and putting green as well as two chipping greens, one which features a sand bunker.

WARNING! STAY AWAY
Course conditions have gone straight downhill since we played last year at this time. Fairways are bare, greens are bumpy, tees are terrible. Of the 10+ courses I played in the last 2 months this by far is in the worst condition. Should have paid $15-$19 instead of $50. Went to rake a bunker and the rake broke! Cart girl didn't have change so I paid $5.00 for a Gatorade!
Nice layout
Fairways were in rough shape, some t boxes as well, greens were decent
Too Pricey Poor Condition
Disappointed... Management needs to spend money to improve this course. Green fees too high for the condition of course . Golf Now should remove this course from their website. We have played many courses here in Florida for the last five year this is the worst course we played.
Waste of money. Will not return & will not recommend to our friends.
This course went down hill
Played in January course was in decent shape thought we would play it again. The fairways were very bad and the greens were slow and bumpy.
Orange lake reserve
This course is in a mess. The fairways were in very bad shape hardly anys good grass and the greens were just average. This was my first time at this course but for the price you can find better courses in the same area. I don't know if it's the lack of water but they really need to do something about their fairways.

Course conditions not great
Owner at the resort for 10 years. This is the worst I have seen it.
That being said, it has been a dry winter. We flew from Canada to play Orange lake courses. Disappointing to see the conditions....But it sure beats what we have back home.
Staff were great. No issues there at all
Scenic layout but in poor condition
Scenic layout in a lovely resort but the course was in very poor condition.
Horrible Conditions
I have been playing here for 20+ years and this is the worst conditions I have ever seen. Apparently integrity golf has taken over the last three years and have ruined what was above Average conditions. Can't blame it on the weather since the other course which is nine holes, cranes bend, is in fine shape. Their fairways are what we were used to playing on at the reserve. Tremendous amount of work to be done
What a shame
Wonderful layout, deplorable course condition. Must be lack of money or need a new grounds keeper. Yes, we have not had a lot of rain but I play frequently and other courses are in good shape. I played this course several months ago and it was in fair to good shape. You frequently needed to roll your ball in the fairway to find a tuff of grass. This course is so negligted they will need major funds to bring it back. I will say the greens are good although dry. No ice and water on course. One highlight, the cart girl was wonderful and came around frequently.
Course needs lot of work
Tee-box are not flat. Lot of area has no grass, especially near the green at few holes' greens. The course management needs more maintenances.
Find another course...until thry find water for the greens and fairways
Expected more. Almost as if the course was experiencing a drought. Tees, fairways, aprons were all below acceptability. Potential for an outstanding course is there...they just need to take care of it.
This course needs work
Although the layout is very nice, this course was certainly not what we expected. The course was very dried out and the greens were horrible and slow. We were 15 minutes late trying to find the place was not worth the $47 we paid for green fees. With added maintenance and attention to detail, this course could be a nice attraction, but right now i would not recommend.
Great course
Great course. Great layout. Everything about the Orange Lakes courses are great. We've played there 3 years in a row now (From Mass)
One of the better ones.
This was our third course this week. It had a few dryer fairways which made wedges difficult arround the greens. Overall, the course was in good shape and would definitely play again.
Great Layout and Challenging
The course is in fair condition. Greens need work and the fairways are very dry and in need of overseeding. The most negative aspect of this course is that there are too many non-golfers walking the cart paths while you are trying to play. The course needs to be managed better to keep residents and other non-golfers off the course while golf is being played.
Not worth full fare course fee.
Unless you get on discount, paying full fare is not worth it. Greens were a mess, not from drought, but animal and poor maintainence.
Orange lake reserve
Played here 18 months ago and really enjoyed it. This time around was poor. Great layout but very little maintenance in the last year. Fairways were very thin with little to no good grass and the greens were hard and sparse. For $50, I expected a lot better kept course.
Poor conditions
Greens and fairways in very poor conditions. Pin placements erratic and not posted
