The Reserve at Orange Lake Resort
About
There are two 18-hole championship courses and two nine-hole courses at Orange Lake Resort & Country Club. The Reserve is the newer of the championship golf courses although technically it could be considered the older of the two. Originally designed in 1982 by Joe Lee, 16 years before the Arnold Palmer-designed Legends was added, the course was completely redesigned in 2005. New water features and more sand were added and seven holes were rerouted and redesigned. One hole that was made more challenging was the fifth hole. A long par 4 was transformed into a long par 3 that plays to almost 215 yards. In addition to the four golf courses, Orange Lake also boasts a lighted driving range and putting green as well as two chipping greens, one which features a sand bunker.

Greens werein great shape as were fairways.
First time I played this course. I found it to be much better than what I had been told. The fairways were in good shape and the greens were excellent. It was a pleasant surprise.
Great Round
First time at this course. Moderately difficult but very playable. Great condition in fairways and greens. Well placed water and traps to keep you focused. Good pace. Completed 18 in 4 hours.
Bryan
Great course and staff. Would have given it a 5 but the scorecards and tee box markers had no pics of course. This course had a lot of hidden water and traps. Very cheap scorecard. Disappointing when you hit shots right down the middle and you end up in water or a trap
Best course yet this year
We played both The Legends & Reserve and found the Reserve to be in better condition and better value. Will be back before we go home
Backed up on every hole. No Rangers
Horrible wait time on course. Every hole, every shot, wait, wait, wait. It would seem that they just wanted to get as many people on the course as possible and did not care about us. I did not see one ranger on the course. Perhaps they knew they overbooked and could do nothing about it. We teed off at 1pm and crawled in in the dark. What a bunch of inconsiderate people to do this.
Good Resort Course
The course is fairly wide open but it does have its challenges. Greens are undulating so a good short game is important. Would definitely play there again.
Resort Course Conditioning
Course has a great layout. The fairway grass and greens are very good in terms of the density and consistency. The big let down is that they are too dense and too long. Greens are much slower than they look and the fairways allow very little bounce and roll thus making the course play extremely longer than it reads. You can't "putt" the ball....you have to "hit" the ball in order to get it to the hole. On chip shots the ball dies at the landing and will not release forward as the base of the green is too soft. Mentioned this to the bag boys and told them I would like to come back and play it when it is in firmer conditions. They said that will never happen as the course maintains itself at that level of conditioning in that the residents complain if things get too fast I will not be back nor will I recommend this course to others. Finally the price is too high for this type of conditioning.
Course in brilliant condition and well looked after!
Golfers love to play here, unfortunately we were a two baller behind a three baller they were not good ediquette players! Would not let us through even though they lost two holes! It might have been cos I was playing with my wife! They hadn't realised she was a 17 handicap player and could beat them!
Good for all skill levels
Play this course every time I am in town. Short par 4,s but plenty of water and undulating greens. I find it more challenging than the Legends course.
Great Course
True greens , impeccably maintained,. A little close to some dwellings made for some challenging holes . We hit a few buildings ... No broken windows luckily .fun course watch for gators!
The Reserve is a fun course
There was no starter the day I played but there didn't seem to be any cart restrictions
The hazard boundaries were not marked and there is water somewhere on almost every hole
Great Course, Great Conditions, Great Deal!
We booked a mid-afternoon tee time for only $17! When we got to the course, we were able to get right out and the conditions were as good as you could ask for...fairways were tightly cut and green, sand traps were well defined, green were smooth and rolled true. The front 9 was the shorter of the two nines, but much more tight and the tougher of the two in my opinion. The back nine was a little more open, but you still had to hit good shots to keep in play. So many holes were memorable and had a lot of character. This course normally charges $89 in the AM, and it is one of the few courses that is worth the money. Getting the deal that we did was an absolute steal and would definitely love to play again. A+
This course is fun to golf.
As always hit the ball straight which keeps you out of trouble, because playing the white tees is not that long and difficult.
Un must
Encore une fois le terrain est en très bonne condition, vaut vraiment le détour.
Nice course
Great day. However, there was no starter on the first tee. Which led to some confusion . Lot of divots not repaired or replaced. Not Bad on most holes. The greens were pretty consistent with the greens being just a little hairy. But the fairways were in good shape as well as the greens.
The 8th hole seems to be most challenging. I found its just better to hit a shorter more accurate club off the tee to just position the ball to the right. Good deal for $38 on golfnow.com. Regular price $125 would be too steep for this course.
Good value
Fortunately pace of play was good so that we could get our 18 in before deluge. Staff very friendly and helpful. Thanks for a enjoyable first round of vacation
Reserve Course Orange Lake
This was the best condition I have ever seen for this course. The greens were firm and fast for this time if year. They were green and in excellent condition. Normally in January the greens are brownish and slow. I like the course when it is in this shape.
Will play again
Excellent. Fun and challenging course. Great setting.
THIS COURSE HAS A GOOD VARIETY OF PLAY
COURSE IN GOOD CONDITION. RESORT COURSE ON CONDO LAND. YOUR VIEW IS EVERYONES BACK YARD, AND FAIRWAYS OF COURSE.
ENJOYED IT.
