The Reserve at Orange Lake Resort
About
There are two 18-hole championship courses and two nine-hole courses at Orange Lake Resort & Country Club. The Reserve is the newer of the championship golf courses although technically it could be considered the older of the two. Originally designed in 1982 by Joe Lee, 16 years before the Arnold Palmer-designed Legends was added, the course was completely redesigned in 2005. New water features and more sand were added and seven holes were rerouted and redesigned. One hole that was made more challenging was the fifth hole. A long par 4 was transformed into a long par 3 that plays to almost 215 yards. In addition to the four golf courses, Orange Lake also boasts a lighted driving range and putting green as well as two chipping greens, one which features a sand bunker.

good course for a great price.
First time playing this course and for the money it was grea. Lots of nature around the fairways including a water moccasins next to the tee at Hole 14.
Good course - pair it with Legends
Your trip to this location will benefit if you schedule time to play both the Reserve and Legends. Both are worthwhile with a nod to Legends being a bit dialed up. Reserve benefits from more water (if you call that a benefit) since our round was complimented by sighting of no less then 3 alligators! Was told there was around 60 on the property. Don't go after balls in the water! Greens were in good shape. Wind was a bit fierce this particular day but my score was on target.
very good condition but !!!
To be honest the condition of the course was excellent. However, I had the impression that the pro shop was in a rest area on I95 highway !! There is a small counter with some balls(bullets), some gloves!! There is several beautiful holes, greens were very beautiful speed between 8 and 9. Sometimes, condos is far too close. There is no marshal on the course. I had a group behind me which played the speedy golf!!! He(it) always waited after us because we also waited. The twosome wanted to play quickly in approximately 10 12 shots per holes?? * () $ / "!! We played the first one 9 within two hours...but very good condition and good course for intermediate players
Lovely course
Beautiful course with lots of challenges. Water comes into play on many of the holes as well as bunkers. Greens and fairways in very good condition. So much wildlife to see, turtles, alligators, cranes, ducks, etc.
I have played this course several times now, I can't wait to play again.
Enjoyable round of golf
Tees, fairways, bunkers, and greens were in very good condition. Pace of play was good.
Good value
Played four first time and was pleasantly surprised - this course is great value. Fairways and greens in excellent condition and lots of water on more than half of the holes to provide plenty of challenge.
Beware of Gators
Although this is the first time we've played this course we have stayed at Orange Lake several times in the past for vacations and all the facilities are top notch.
This is definitely a course that you want to use a cart for as there is quite a distance getting to and from the course from the pro shop and there are long distances between a few holes.
The course has a very comfortable layout to it with a couple holes having a hidden water hazard near the green. The fairways were in excellent shape as were the greens. The greens ran very true and were of varying sizes.
Make sure to keep it in the fairway as best you can because the "grass" in the back yards of the condos is very tough to hit out of, that's assuming that you find your ball in it.
Holes 4 & 5 are very picturesque as they go around a very large swampland. Keep an eye out for gators in here. We saw a couple.
Nice course!
I was quite impressed with the course! Many of the courses that are rated more highly are usually a disappointment. This one was one of the few exceptions. There were a few rough areas but I think that this is to be expected. Interesting layout and lot of variety from one hole to another. I'd definitely play it again.
nice course
wellmaintain
nice layout green a bit slow
good price
Senoir citizen and weekend golfer course
Greens could be faster. I'd say they rolled an 8.5 tops. The pro shop is more like a race Trac gas station full of coffee, nick nacks, and items for purchase like at a conscience store.
Legends orange lake
The only disappointing factor for orange lake in general is the golf course staff give the impression they only want your money . They rush at you to wipe your clubs and then carry them a few steps to stack them.
If you unload your cart yourself they ignore you
On three occasions the carts ran out of juice before we completed the round and with assistance from the cart with us we made it back
Golf staff state gee that's because the carts are old and you should have ask for a replacement .
No concern as to how our round went and no apology
Unlike other courses where the staff cannot wait to be friendly and helpful
Nice layout, scenic
Nice layout with many scenic views of marshland, lakes and wild birds. Condos line several fairways close to fairways so errant shots may be on porches or in back yards. Rolling greens in good condition at average rolling speed.
Nice course. Nothing special.
Orange Lake Resort has two 18-hole courses.,Legends and Reserve. The Reserve course more resembles a municipal course. No GPS in the carts and minimal frills from the staff. The course is nice. Not overly challenging, aside from a few water holes. The day I played, many of the back tees were moved forward, so the course was made that much easier. The greens were slower than expected.
A tricky little challenge
A great test of golf with some wonderful challenging holes. Don't be put off by the length as this course requires all the clubs in you bag
GOOD VALUE
A Testing and interesting course in good condition .
Greens are slick and have some tricky reads .Some good shots needed on the 4th a par five, drive on 7 ,approach on 10 and 13 .The approach over water on 16 is frightening !However the best is the par 3 5th from the back tee all over water to a lovely green
My recommendation is to play the Reserve when you have the chance .
Definitely Reserve a tee time
Played Orange County Reserve course on a recent vacation to Florida from PA. Not knowing anything
about the course, I have to say I was glad I chose
to play here. As a 8 handicap, it provides some
difficulty but very fair. Views are very nice and the
conditions were good. Only negative would be the
closeness to the housing development on a few holes.
I must also say, I hope you get paired with gentlemen as nice as the guys I played with + Charlie :>
If I were you, I would Reserve a tee time and find out
for yourself.
Fun Florida Course
Lots of fun, diverse holes, very old Florida features; water, sand, wetlands
Reviee
Enjoyable course. Conditions were excellent . Good mix of short and long holes
