The Reserve at Orange Lake Resort
About
There are two 18-hole championship courses and two nine-hole courses at Orange Lake Resort & Country Club. The Reserve is the newer of the championship golf courses although technically it could be considered the older of the two. Originally designed in 1982 by Joe Lee, 16 years before the Arnold Palmer-designed Legends was added, the course was completely redesigned in 2005. New water features and more sand were added and seven holes were rerouted and redesigned. One hole that was made more challenging was the fifth hole. A long par 4 was transformed into a long par 3 that plays to almost 215 yards. In addition to the four golf courses, Orange Lake also boasts a lighted driving range and putting green as well as two chipping greens, one which features a sand bunker.

Good holiday golf course
Played here with some older friends also from England and found the course somewhat of a challenge, especially when you play it for the first time. My one criticism would be the lack of information about each hole, no course guides available and no hole maps on the tees meant you were playing blind a lot. This said I would recommend this course and would play it again myself, good length a few challenging holes, overall a very good holiday golf course
Good course with challanges
Overall course is very good, need some local instruction on putting, greens are slow compared to my home course in TX. My low best at home is 22 putts with average less than 29 so disappointed when I have more than 28.
a little slow
The course is ok, nothing special. A little disappointed in the pace of play, and no rangers visible.
no hole layout and hard sand in bunkers
two problems with the course: 1. no layout of the holes, either on the scorecard or the hole placard - doesn't show where water is or other hazards, and 2. sand in the bunkers is very hard, which is a problem around the greens where the club will skid on the top of the sand
Nice course lost phone
Great course however lost my phone at first hole and no one turn it in even though crew was working at same hole......other than that nice course to play
Great layout
Beautiful course awesome colors for a florida course.greens rolled true.
Varied challenges throughout course
This course offers various challenges throughout the round, with many bunkers and ponds as well as many treed lined holes. Fun but challenging to play, a positive experience playing this course. Condition is excellent and staff very friendly and helpful.
Always enjoy the Reserve course
Have played this course several time over the last few years while staying at Orange Lake Resort. Very nice course. Found it in great shape this year.
class act
Why I don't recommend this course is at such a good price I don't want everyone taking up the tee times because this course is a gem
Good all the way
Nice course in very good condition, very good value for the buck !!!
course has a nice lay out
Course was in great condition with a nice layout. I am definitely playing there again.
Great Golfing Experience
I enjoyed this course while on a golfing vacation in December 2014. I am an 18.1 handicap and played from the white tees with my brother who is a beginning golfer. We both had a great time. The staff was accomodating and the pace of place was acceptable. Great scenery and well maintained. We recommend this course at discounted rates. Other courses payed were Celebration and Metro West. These courses were also great places to play.
Superb Greens
Not a long course but fairly tight, with fairway landing areas narrowed by water and bunkers. The best greens I have played on this year, quite a few are multi layer leading to some interesting puts and they were in excellent condition. The grass used for the semi rough was not the usual bent type so made finding your ball easier and was also fairer.
slow play
All fine told all out there were 4 balls. Were told we were 2 ball. All lies as 4 balls and 3 ball in front. IT was not just that we are a 2 ball-one lot of 4 balls were so slow THe cours e marshal must have seen us all backed up Nearly sunset and we started at 12.30 fish. Ridiculous speed. Course otherwise was fine sorecommended
The Reserve
This course was an extremely pleasant surprise. It was in great shape, had an interesting architecture and was well maintained.
We have played several courses in the Orlando/Kissimmee area and the Reserve was by far the best value for money.
Will definitely try to play there again.
Good recreational golfer course
Course is laid out well and plays well for an average golfer. Many holes were wet with drainage issues. Liked the offset on forward tees.
Great course
Excellently maintained. I really enjoyed playing this course and would recommend it.
Excellent Course tight back nine
This layout is very well done, greens and conditions were very good. Not a really long course, but very enjoyable.
Great shape
The course was in great shape, fairways and greens.
