The Reserve at Orange Lake Resort
About
There are two 18-hole championship courses and two nine-hole courses at Orange Lake Resort & Country Club. The Reserve is the newer of the championship golf courses although technically it could be considered the older of the two. Originally designed in 1982 by Joe Lee, 16 years before the Arnold Palmer-designed Legends was added, the course was completely redesigned in 2005. New water features and more sand were added and seven holes were rerouted and redesigned. One hole that was made more challenging was the fifth hole. A long par 4 was transformed into a long par 3 that plays to almost 215 yards. In addition to the four golf courses, Orange Lake also boasts a lighted driving range and putting green as well as two chipping greens, one which features a sand bunker.

Cutbacks obvious
Experience did not start well. Our other two players checked in ahead of us and the cart team didn't know. So we sat around waiting while they were at the first hole. Not much service from team as you could ring them but they were just sitting around. Course was in good shape. Many twosomes were playing which made it tough to let one through. More attention was received at the end of our round. Overall good but could be better.
Nice Trek
Course needs attention! The fairways and greens had diseased areas.
What a Disapointment
I have been playing Orange Lake Reserve for many year's and yesterday was the worst condition I have ever seen this course in. Burned out Fairways, Bunkers with grass growing in them and Greens that are in need of attention. Wow, what happened ? For the first time I can't recommend playing the Reserve. Let's hope they see the light before it goes to far and can't come back.
golf
me and my brother are locales we enjoyed are round friendly staff well kept course. I recommend this course.
Play Only For a Discount
For a course that is extremely expensive to play on at regular rates, it was a disappointment. For a severe discount on GolfNow, it was worth it. I wouldn't play here again unless there was a discount. The fairways have some bare spots and have some weeds growing in them. The greens are fair to putt on and were in decent condition. The traps were pretty wet and packed. There are other courses in the area better maintained if you plan on playing.
Great Value
Great course..Always love the Orange Lake championship courses
Not bad for a cheap golf now round.
The course is a challenging one with all the hazards in play and no maps of where they are. If you played the course before, you know where some are, but the first time player can get swallowed up quickly. A group of 6 played ahead of us, took some convincing that it wasn't proper etiquette and they eventually let us play through. Did not see a ranger or beverage cart all day!
Reserve 5-19-15
The green on the front 9 had been recently punched and sanded. However, no one advised of this when the reservation was made. The fairways were somewhat rough on the front but OK on the back 9. The greens were OK on the back 9 as well
Long par fours for seniors
Nice course to play...fairways where ok .....greens needed a little TLC
This course needs help
For the price of $69, I expected a lot more. The fairways weren't great, very thin turf. But, the worst part was the terrible greens. They were like putting on your driveway. I guess I'm just used to California?
Don't waste your money!
After playing the sister course last year, I was expecting another good experience. This course is very poorly managed .
We went to our cart where the person sent us to the first tee ( a twosome) and when we got there, thgere was NO starter and no score cards! We had to drive all the way back to get one-and lost our place! We only saw a ranger ONCE and he was busy talking to the cart girl! Very poor management!
Lost clubs
My friend and I played orange lake reserve. They only had one guy hauling bags and loading carts, the course was packed. While checking in someone took my friend's and my clubs. I personally drove aroud the course and found them. Two people who booked rentals took them because the course was severely under staffed. The responsible employee didn't take accountability or help find the clubs and it took 20 minutes for a manager to come address the issue. They resolved it by giving us some free golf at their Legends course.
Found course very boring all around empty dated properties
Didn't really enjoy this course found it very boring we hadn't paid a great amount so not a worry but would have been very disappointed if paid full price
It was like playing in a time warp very dated properties
There was no one in front or behind so our speed of play was good
Good day
Overall, it was a great day. Weather was perfect. The course was in good shape. Greens were rolling well. Not a lot of brown damaged spots. Quite happy overall. Just one bad thing, a 5some was playing 2 groups ahead of us. We caught them at the 8th hole. They wouldn't let the group ahead of us go through & they had an open hole or 2 in front of them. Nothing we could do, just stuck. After we finished the round, we asked. We were told the Marshall warned them but they wouldn't listen. Ok, so why is the Marshall in place? It was just frustrating having to sit & wait while this group slowly played. Argh!
Orange Lake is tight
Good course and well maintained. Paired up with a snowbird who might have been the nicest Canadian I have ever met.
Average course
They need to put a map on either the score cards, Hole markers or on the carts. So many times you can't see where the water cuts into the fairway. Hit a drive and it goes into the water in the middle of the fairway.
Tight!
Good condition and pace through vacationland condos, no O/B or hazard stakes,!!!! So hit & play from CPSO patios! ? Legal issues?
Always in Good Condition
Have played this course many times in last 20 years, always in good shape. Good variety of water hazards, sand bunkers. Very lady friendly from forward tees and easy to score if you go straight. Excellent practice facility, lighted driving range too. Getting a little expensive even with golfnow!!! Prices change according to season, expensive right now.
good value
Nice course and great value for the money. Played 18 in just over 3 hours. Greens in great shape. Very happy with my experience. Will definitely go back.
Played course 6/12. 1st time in 6 months. Quality of course has gone down considerably since Integrity Golf has taken over. Fairways used to be lush & green. Now browned with bare areas evident everywhere. Greens are the slowest I've ever experienced on this course. Maybe that's why the Golfnow Hot Deal price was $13. It has been over priced since Integrity Golf took over.
